Adjusting the Settings on Family Hub

Need to adjust the time and date, change the language, or maybe even reset the fridge? Learn how to adjust Family Hub's settings by following the guides below.

Parental Control

Enable or disable restrictions on Family Hub features and apps.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Settings.

  2. Touch Parental Controls.

  3. To enable Parental Controls, touch Enable Restrictions.

  4. Use the on-screen number pad to set the passcode.

    The pin will be used to access the apps that are restricted by Parental Control, or to disable Parental Control restrictions.

  5. Re-enter the passcode and then touch Set.

  6. Select the widgets you want to restrict access to.

  7. To turn off Parental Controls, touch Disable Restrictions.


Select a preferred language. Available languages depend on the sales region.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Settings and then touch Language.

  2. Select the desired language. For this example, touch Español (Estados Unidos).

  3. To return to the Home screen, touch Home.

Date and Time

You can change the time zone through the Time zone menu.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Settings and then touch Date and Time.

  2. To set the time zone, touch Time zone.

  3. Select the time zone and then touch Return.

Clean Screen Mode

Turn this mode on so you can clean the screen without accidentally activating any apps.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Settings and then touch Clean Screen Mode.

  2. When you are finished cleaning the top section, touch Next.

  3. Clean the bottom section. When you are finished, touch Done.

Online Manual

The online manual will walk you through various menus and apps that the refrigerator provides directly on the display.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Settings and then touch Online Manual.

  2. To launch the Web manual, touch START.

  3. Navigate through the Online Manual to find answers to your questions.

Factory Reset

Once factory reset is complete, no user data can be recovered.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Settings and then touch Factory Data Reset.

  2. Touch Reset to delete all user data permanently. Data that will be removed includes account information, memos, photos, and user settings.

  3. To confirm the reset, touch Reset.

  4. Please wait while the reset is in progress. 

  5. To reboot, touch OK.
