Location Settings (GPS) on Your Galaxy S6

Galaxy S6 Location Setting

Want to know where the closest gas station is? The Location settings let you choose how your S6 will determine your location.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Turn On Location Services

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.  

  2. Touch Search, then search for and select Location.

  3. To turn on Location, touch the slider next to Location.

Manage Accuracy Level

You can select the accuracy level of your device's locating method.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.    

  2. Touch Search, then search for and select Location.

  3. Touch Locating method.

  4. Choose the preferred Locating method option.

      • High accuracy allows the use of GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks to estimate your location.
      • Battery saving allows the use of Wi-Fi and mobile networks to estimate your location.
      • Device only allows the use GPS to estimate your location.

Turn On Location History

Location History helps you to get useful information such as automatic commute predictions, improved search results, and more useful ads on Google.

To use this feature, a Google account is required.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.    

  2. Touch Search, then search for and select Location.

  3. Touch Google Location History.
