Monitor and Extend the Battery Life for Your Galaxy Note5

Forgot to charge your phone the night before and now low on battery? Don't fret, with the Note5's ability to use the remaining battery life efficiently, your Note5 won't die without a fight. You can also check which apps drain your battery and monitor how your battery is being used.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Monitor Battery Life

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch Search, and then search for and select Battery.  

  3. Touch BATTERY USAGE.

  4. The estimated past and predicted usage time is displayed. The last full charge and the estimated usage time remaining will also be displayed.

Power Saving Mode

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch Search, and then search for and select Battery.  

  3. To extend your battery life, select the desired mode.

    • OFF: turn off Power Saving Mode and continue with the regular usage of power.

    • MID: turn off and reduce few power consuming apps and features.

    • MAX: turn off and reduce power consuming apps and features as well applying a dark theme to limit power usage further.

  4. Touch APPLY.

  5. To turn off Power Saving Mode to continue with regular power usage, touch Settings.

  6. Touch Battery.

Battery Basics

Ways to charge your battery properly and safely:

  • To charge your device, use only the supplied Samsung USB/charging cables and avoid third-party accessories.

  • Ensure the USB/charging cable is connected securely and is not being blocked by your phone cover or case.

  • Make sure the battery or charging indicator appears on the phone's display when the USB/charging cable is connected.

  • Use the outlet on your wall instead of your computer.

  • Disconnect the phone from the USB/charging cable after the battery is fully charged.
