Transfer Files from Your Galaxy Note5 to Another Device

You can transfer files from your Galaxy Note5 to another device using the USB cable or sharing options.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Transfer Files Using Sharing Options

  1. Navigate to Apps > Samsung folder > My Files.

  2. Navigate to the file you want to share.

  3. Touch and hold the content you want to share.

  4. Touch SHARE.

  5. Touch the desired sharing option and then follow the on-screen prompts.

Transfer Files Using a USB Cable

  1. Using a USB cable and a USB connector, connect your old device and your new phone.

    Make sure you've connected the USB connector to your new Galaxy phone, not your old device.

  2. Select Smart Switch.

    Both new and old devices must have Smart Switch installed in order to transfer files.

  3. On your new phone, touch SEND to transfer data from your new phone to another device and RECEIVE to receive data from an old device.

  4. Touch ALLOW on your old device.

  5. Select the data you want to transfer to your new phone and then touch TRANSFER.

  6. After the transfer is complete, touch CLOSE APP to exit the app.
