Adjust the Location Settings (GPS) on Your Galaxy Tab A

Samsung Galaxy Tab A Location Settings

The Location settings let you choose how your tablet will determine your location. You can increase location accuracy by Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network.

Turn On Location Services

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.  

  2. Touch Search, and then search for and select Location.    

  3. To turn on Location, swipe to and touch the slider next to Location.       

Manage Accuracy Level

You can select the accuracy level of your tablet's locating method.

Choosing Locating Method

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.  

  2. Touch Search, and then search for and select Location.   

  3. Touch Locating method.  

  4. Choose the preferred location method option.  

    • High accuracy: Uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks to estimate your location.

    • Battery saving: Uses Wi-Fi and mobile networks to estimate your location.

    • Device only: Uses GPS to estimate your location.

Turn On Location History

To use this feature, a Google account is required.

Location History helps you to get useful information such as automatic commute predictions, improved search results, and more useful ads on and off Google.

To turn location history on:

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.  

  2. Touch Search, and then search for and select Location.   

  3. Touch Google Location History.
