We purchased this remote on November 6, 2023. After many delays, we received the remote on Nov. 30, ‘23. This remote was partially charged.
After fully charging this remote, I then paired it up with our Samsung TV & Blu-ray DVD player & Bose Soundbar. The remote has worked nicely with all our devices.
The only change in this remote (from the remote we received with our Samsung TV) is the missing Control button to go directly to Hulu. We still have the control buttons to go directly to Prime and Netflix. We do not use the Samsung button. For us, watching live TV, and commercials is something we rarely do..

A remote that no longer needs/requires batteries.

I like the remote, but it's extremely cheap. It will break in some way or another before 2 years is up. The price is ridiculous. I think they make controller so cheap and the price so high so that they can continue to make money off of this control. When the control is working, it's great. But it breaks easily and it's too expensive. So it gets a 3. I need another one now, and I'm dreading paying $60 for it. Absolutely ridiculous.

Great features/NOT DURABLE/VERY EXPENSIVE

Bought this TV and associated remote. After one year the remote stops workings and Samsung tells me "sorry, you bought your TV 13 months ago so you're out of warranty and have to buy a new remote. Note to self: The warranty is crap. Bought a new remote and two months later it doesn't work again. At this point, not sure if it's the remote or the TV's bluetooth doesn't work. Spent an hour on Chat with a "support specialist" and they were pretty much worthless. Guessing that the next Samsung Support rep will once again tell me I have to buy a new one (this time a whole new TV). Sucks!

Crap

The device exhibits a limited charge retention capability, typically not exceeding two weeks. The solar charging functionality appears to be inoperative, and even when charged via USB from a depleted state, the battery life is consistently brief, lasting only a couple weeks at best. The compact design seems to compromise battery longevity.

Furthermore, the remote lacks a "find remote" feature and illuminated buttons. Considering its price point of $60, this remote control is notably disappointing. It is regrettable that the NVidia Shield remote is not universally compatible, as Samsung could potentially benefit from incorporating similar design and functional elements.

Lacking features and battery life

Terrible battery that barely lasted a year. Now it won't work unless it's plugged in. This remote SHOULD be replaced for free since I am reading that EVERYONE has had the same issue.

Worthless battery.

A little over a year old and it doesn’t charge, ugh awful. What happened to just having a remote with batteries that work forever

Bad Remote

This is a useless product. Purchased it with a new TV, a new remote..
8months later - cannot be solar charged
SAMSUNG mentions warranty for accessories(remote) is only 6months
3months later - cannot even charged with cable.
Every year pay $60 for just a remote?
Bought universal remote for $15 and works better for a whole year now

USELSS PRODUCT_SOLARCELL REMOTE

Does not charge. Has to be plugged in to work. Never thought I would have a corded remote but here we are.

Terrible

My SolarCell Remote never worked properly. Before pressing any button, I have to unplug and plug in the USB-C cable for each button press. Sometimes the volume and channel controls will work without the unplug/plug in method. It has never charged via solar (sunlight nor indoor lighting) and must be connected to the USB-C cable for the process described above to "work."

After reading other reviews and the Samsung Specialists' responses, I decided to "Chat with an Expert" and after about 15 minutes, I received no response, not even a canned one.

Bad Product, Bad Support

* Customers report persistent battery failures, with remotes refusing to charge or draining rapidly within months of use
* Many find buttons too small and difficult to press, with no backlighting for nighttime use
* Reviewers emphasize this is a widespread systemic defect affecting numerous users, not isolated cases
* Some mention plastic casing cracking under normal handling and overall poor durability
* A few praise the sleek appearance and intuitive interface, but these positives are vastly outweighed by reliability concerns
