Galaxy Tab E LTE: How Do I use the Bluetooth feature on my Samsung Galaxy Tab E LTE?

Bluetooth technology is a wireless connectivity feature that has a short range and low power consumption. Using your device's Bluetooth transmitter, you can connect to a wireless headset and entertainment devices like wireless speakers. You can also connect to many car infotainment systems and share your device’s music. You can share content, such as pictures and contact cards, between two devices.

Important: Bluetooth communication range is approximately 30 feet.

Note: Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Connect to a Bluetooth Device

To connect with a Bluetooth device, Bluetooth must first be turned ON and make sure it is in discoverable mode or visible.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .

2. Touch Settings .

3. Touch Bluetooth .

4. Touch the slider Curseur off to turn Bluetooth on Curseur On.

5. Your device will scan and display available nearby Bluetooth devices. Touch the name of the device you want to connect to.

6. When prompted, verify passkey matches on both devices and touch OK to pair devices.

Note: If you are connecting to an older Bluetooth device, you may be asked for a PIN. The default PIN for many devices is four zeros—0000. Some devices have PINs specific to the device. The PIN will be in the device’s documentation.

7. When the device is paired, its name will appear in the "Paired devices" list.

Note: Touch SCAN to refresh the available device list to search for more available devices nearby.

Share Content

Many of the applications on your device let you share content via Bluetooth technology. To share content FROM your device, Bluetooth doesn't need to be turn on in advance.

1. When using an application like the Gallery, touch Share .

Note: Depending on the application used, the Share option might be available after touching MORE or the icon Other options first.

2. Touch Bluetooth Icon Bluetooth. It might be necessary to swipe left or right on the screen of your device to find this option.

Note: If Bluetooth is not yet on, your device will turn on this feature automatically.

3. From the list of Available devices, select a device to share the content with.

Note : Bluetooth MUST BE activated on the device you want to share content with.

4. The other device will need to accept the transfer request (by touching ACCEPT on the other device).

Turn Bluetooth On/Off from the Notification Panel

1. Swipe from the top of the screen to the bottom to open the Notification Panel.

2. Touch Bluetooth 1 to turn this feature on 1. Your smartphone will start looking for availabe devices but you can ignore that process.

3. To turn off Bluetooth, open again the Notification panel and touch Bluetooth 1 to turn this feature on 1.

Receive and Access Content

In order to receive file(s) sent by other devices, bluetooth MUST BE turned on, on your device (see previous section).

1. When another device sends content to your device, you will see a File transfer request letting you know the device’s Bluetooth name. Touch ACCEPT to proceed file transfer or DECLINE to stop connection.

2. You can see the transferred files by opening the Notification Panel (swipe down with finger from the top of the screen).

2. Touch the notification File received.

3. Touch the file to select it.

4. If it is the first time you used this feature, you will be asked to choose an application to open the file. Select the desired application.

5. The file will then be displayed, and saved in the folder Download in your Gallery app.

Unpair Devices

In order to unpair devices, bluetooth MUST BE turned on, on your device (see section above).

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .

2. Touch Settings .

3. Touch Bluetooth .

4. Touch the Settings icon  next to the name of the device in the Paired devices list.

Note: If Bluetooth is not on yet, touch the slider Curseur off to turn Bluetooth on Curseur On.

5. Touch Unpair to finish unpairing.
