How Do I back up using the Backup and Reset settings option on my Samsung Galaxy device?

Your application data, Wi-Fi settings, phone settings and passwords can be backed up to your Google account using the Back up my data option on your Android device.


The steps will be similar on different Samsung devices and Operating systems, although may look slightly different depending on your device and theme. The below steps illustrate Lollipop and KitKat steps but can be replicated across Samsung Android smartphones.


1. Tap Apps




2. Tap Settings


Backup 2 


3. Scroll down to Backup and Reset




4. Tick Back up my data to ensure your data is backed up.  To restore your data, tick Automatic Restore
