How to connect the Gear S3 to a mobile device

Before connecting the Gear S3 to a mobile device, install a Samsung Gear app on the phone. After installing the app, follow the steps below:

 

Step 1: On the home screen, tap Apps.

Step 2: Tap Samsung Gear app.

Step 3: Tap CONNECT TO GEAR.

Step 4: When the Bluetooth pairing request window appears, confirm the passkeys displayed on the Gear S3 and mobile device. If it matches, tap OK.

Step 5: After reading the Terms and conditions, tick the check boxes.

Step 6: Tap NEXT.

Step 7: If you want to sign in using your Samsung account, tap SIGN IN.

If you don't want to sign in using your Samsung account, you can just tap SKIP.

Step 8: Once the devices are connected, the Samsung Gear app’s main screen will be displayed on the mobile device while the Clock screen will be displayed on the Gear.

An on-screen tutorial will appear on the Gear’s screen. Follow the instructions to learn the Gear’s basic controls.

 

Note: If the Gear S3 is connected to another mobile device, it will reset automatically. Make sure to back up all data stored.
