Will the iris scanner on my device work if I am wearing glasses?

Last Update Date : Mar 22. 2018

If you wear glasses with a strong prescription or circular contact lenses, your device may not be able to recognise your irises.  Sunglasses and colour contact lenses can also affect the iris scanner’s ability to detect your irises.

We recommend that you remove your glasses or contact lenses before registering your irises.

If you have difficulty with the iris scanner while wearing your glasses or contact lenses, try using the scanner after you have removed your glasses or contact lenses.

When setting up the iris scanner you will be required to input an alternative locking method, which you can use if you are unable to remove your glasses or contact lenses, or are unable to use the iris scanner for any reason.
