How to register a TV in the SmartThings app.

Registering a TV in SmartThings.

1 Turn on the power of the TV you wish to register in SmartThings.
2 Run the SmartThings app on your smartphone. Auto detect will display available devices on the home screen.

3 Tap Add now on the pop-up message.

4 On the Get started with your TV screen, tap NEXT.

5 Select the location of the TV and tap NEXT.

6 Connect as follows depending on the model of your TV. Connecting a smartphone with the TV.
  • If a PIN input is displayed on the TV (2017 and later models):
  • Input the PIN shown on the TV screen in the smartphone and tap DONE.

  • If a PIN is not displayed on the TV (2016 models):
  • Check the pop-up message displayed on the TV screen and use the buttons on the TV or a remote control to select Allow.

7 The connection between the smartphone and the TV has been established. Check the app for a message that the connection is complete and tap Done.

8 If the TV has already been registered and AP mode cannot be configured
If the device is already connected with a different smartphone, disconnect the previous owner's connection and try registering it again. On the following screen, which appears during AP mode configuration, tap RESET and try registering it again.
