My Remote Is Not Working, How Can I Determine If I Need A Replacement Remote?



If your remote control is not operating your Blu-ray player, try the following:

  • Replace the batteries with new ones
  • Reset the remote
  • Test the remote

Reset the Remote

Remove the batteries and then hold down the POWER button on the remote for 30 seconds. Replace the batteries with new batteries and make sure they are matching the +/- symbols. Try to operate the Blu-ray player again.

Test the Remote

To test the remote, you will need a digital camera or a cell phone that has a camera.

  1. Turn on the digital camera or activate the camera feature on your cell phone.
  2. Point the remote control at the camera, and then press and hold the Power button (or channel, volume, buttons) on the remote control.
  3. While continuing to hold the button down look at the camera screen.

    • If the remote is working, you'll see a light coming from the remote control. This indicates the remote is working, but the remote sensor on the Blu-ray player is either failing or is blocked. Remove any obstacles between the Blu-ray player and the remote and try again.
      • If the front of the Blu-ray player is not blocked but it still does not respond to the remote control, the Blu-ray player requires service. Click here to begin setting up service online.
    • If you do not see the infrared light and you have installed fresh batteries, the remote is no longer working and If your remote is within the one year parts warranty, please call us.
