When I Use Audio Manager, I Can't Open Some Of My Tracks Or Playlists. What's Wrong?

Last Update Date : Apr 12. 2018

If you have moved a track to a different location on your hard disk after you added it to the Audio Manager database or an Audio Manager playlist, Audio Manager will not be able to find that track until you update the location of the track in Audio Manager.

Note: If Audio Manager cannot find a track, it displays one of the following error messages:

  • The following selections could not be added: [selected playlist name]. These tracks cannot be used.
  • The file associated with this selection cannot be found.

To correct this problem, you need to either:

  • Update the track in your playlist with the new track location.
  • Update the track in your database with the new track location.

Step-by-step instructions for both procedures are below. Choose Updating the Tracks in a Playlist if your problem occurred within a playlist. Choose Updating the Tracks in Your Database if your problem occurred in the database.

To update the tracks in a playlist with new locations, follow these steps:

  1. In the Audio Manger, click Select Playlists From... The Select Playlists from Database dialog appears.
  2. Highlight the playlist of your choice, and then click Edit. The list of songs in the playlist appears.
  3. Right-click the track of your choice. A pop-up  menu appears.

  5. Click the "..." button on the right side of the Storage Location field to browse to the new location of the track. The Browse dialog appears.

  8. Click Yes to save the changes.
  9. Repeat Steps 3 through 9 for each track in the playlist whose location you want to update.
