Notification of Detection of Gallery Data Sync with Samsung Cloud

Mobile Device
Jun 02, 2021

Did you recently receive an email advising that your data saved within your Samsung Cloud account will be deleted and not too sure what this means? This is due to your account being inactive for more than 12 months. If you do not continue to regularly sync or use the Samsung Cloud service the data saved within the account will be permanently deleted.

Notification of Deletion of Gallery Data Sync with Samsung Cloud

Your Gallery data is calculated separately from being inactive from data stored using the Sync, Backup, and Drive options. If you haven't synced your Gallery data with Samsung Cloud for a long time, you may receive a notification about a scheduled deletion, even if you've been using other Samsung Cloud options.

Syncing your data matches your content across all supported devices logged in with the same Samsung account via Samsung Cloud. For example, if you edit or delete synced photos on one of your devices, those photos will be edited or deleted on all your devices.

Follow the steps below to sync your data with Samsung Cloud:

  • Settings > Accounts and backup > Samsung Cloud > Gallery, or Other synced data or

  • Settings > Accounts and backup > Samsung Cloud > More > Settings > Sync and auto backup settings > Sync.

Turn on each item you want to sync in the Settings menu. It will be automatically synced straight away - so long as you are connected to a Wi-Fi network or using your Mobile data. If you want to sync all items right now, tap "Sync now". If this fails, an error message will be displayed in Settings.

※ Path may vary depending on device model or app version.

Please Note: Your data will be deleted if you're using the basic storage plan for the Samsung Cloud service (i.e., free storage plan user) and have been inactive longer than the time period specified by Samsung. Note that this doesn't apply to paid storage plan users.
