To achieve the best performance from your dishwasher, it's essential to use the correct detergent and rinse aid. Proper care and maintenance not only ensure your dishes come out sparkling but also extend the life and efficiency of your dishwasher.

Note: The provided information refers to dishwashers sold in Canada.

All cycles (except Rinse Only) require detergent. Add the manufacturer's recommended amount for optimal performance. Only use detergents specifically made for dishwashers.

Enzyme vs. chlorine detergent: Enzyme-based detergents are great for tackling caked-on food and are more eco-friendly. Chlorine-based detergents excel in removing stains and odors.

❶ Open the detergent dispenser flap by pushing the release. The cover will slide open.

Note: For detergent pods, ensure proper placement in the dispenser and proper closure of the dispenser door. Pods require at least 120°F (49°C) water to dissolve. Follow the manufacturer's temperature recommendations for best results.

Note: Use only liquid rinse aid in your Samsung dishwasher. Powdered rinse aids can clog the dispenser.

Rinse aid enhances drying performance by reducing water surface tension, thereby minimizing water spots on dishes.

❶ Turn the rinse aid reservoir cap counterclockwise to remove it and fill with rinse aid.

❷ Adjust the rinse aid indicator dial (ranging from 1 to 6) to control the release amount. A higher number indicates more rinse aid usage.

❸ Turn the cap clockwise to close the reservoir.

Monitor the rinse aid level regularly. Refill as needed, depending on usage frequency. Regularly checking the rinse aid ensures optimal drying performance and helps prevent water spots on dishes.

Note: The Rinse Refill indicator on the control panel signals when it's time to add more rinse aid.

Regular maintenance ensures the efficiency and longevity of your dishwasher. This includes cleaning the filter and checking spray arms for clogs. A well-maintained dishwasher provides consistently clean and dry dishes.
