Why does my refrigerator have frost or a leak?

Last Update date : Apr 19. 2023

If condensation has formed inside the refrigerator or water has leaked, please try the solutions below before contacting the customer service center. These tips are simple and easy to check at home to solve the problem.

Ensure the door is closed completely

If the door is not closed properly, warm air will enter the compartment and water will begin to form. Make sure the door is closed properly and nothing is blocking the door. You need to make sure that the door molding is fully functional. The rubber door seals should be cleaned on a regular basis, at least once every six months.

  • Disconnect the plug from the electrical socket for about 2 minutes and open the doors.
  • Put the plug back into the socket and close the doors.
  • Place your fingers along the rubber seals. When you feel air being drawn in, this means that the rubber door seals are no longer closing properly.
  • In this case, we recommend changing the door seal.
  • The door seal should be replaced by a repair engineer. Therefore, contact the customer service center to a replacement.

Check the Energy saver mode on the display

If condensation or water droplets appear on the doors, turn the Energy Saver mode off. The heater on the door is not operating when the energy saver mode is on. In addition, the Energy Saver mode will automatically turn on when power is supplied to the refrigerator. Therefore, when you restart the product, please check the mode and turn off the energy saver mode.

Note:

  • The actual design of the display may differ from the model.

Separate the food to improve ventilation

Please reserve enough space for food and provide proper clearance to ensure that no food is leaning against the back wall of the refrigerator, which could affect the airflow.

Please separate your food items within the refrigerator and improve ventilation, and ensure that the air vents of both the refrigerator and freezer are not blocked.

Check the refrigerator drain

Food particles or other debris can easily get caught in the defrost drain. If this debris builds up, it can clog the drain and cause water to leak out.
If you think that the drain is blocked, turn off the power and wait for the ice to melt.
Cleaning around the debris. Do not pour hot water directly into the defrost drain or inside of the refrigerator. (This may cause internal issues with the refrigerator.) Therefore, it is recommended that you contact the customer service center for diagnosis.

Cool down your hot food before putting into the refrigerator or freezer

Placing hot or cooked food directly into the refrigerator can elevate the humidity level in the freezer, potentially causing moisture freezes to form frost and impacting the quality of your food. To prevent frost build-up and to ensure optimal freshness and longevity of your food, we kindly urge you to cool it down before placing it in your refrigerator or freezer.
