[Galaxy Note 8] Why device stopped charging but it is not yet fully charged?

Last Update date : Sep 22. 2020

During wireless or wired charging, the device and the charger may become hot.   If the device heats up or the ambient air temperature rises, the charging speed may decrease automatically.

If the battery rises to a specific temperature while charging,  the charging algorithm to protect the  device in  overheating operates and accordingly the charger may stop charging.

This is a normal operating condition of the Galaxy Note 8 to prevent the device of further damage.  Please wait for the device to cool down and afterwards, the charging will resume.

Note: If charging does not proceed or is very slow, please check the USB cable used for charging and replace it. If the problem persists, kindly visit the nearest Samsung Authorized Service Center near your area. [https://www.samsung.com/ae/support/service-center/]

Thank you for your feedback!
