We will provide you the handful of battery charging tips, and steps to take so you get the most out of your battery, and how to prevent damage to your earbuds. Find out proper methods to utilize the battery of your earbuds as well as its charging case.

Before you try the functionality suggested below, be sure to check if your device's software is updated with latest version. You can find more about 'How to connect and update Galaxy Buds+ with Galaxy Smartphone' with Samsung Support.

Have your battery fully charged

  • It is recommended to fully charge the battery before using the earbuds for the first time or when they have been unused for extended periods. When you charge the battery for the first time or when the battery is completely discharged, minimum of 30 minutes is required to get it started.
  • To charge the earbuds, insert them into the corresponding slots, and then connect the charger.
  • The charging case, which has a built-in battery, is charged along with the earbuds that are in the charging case. The charging case may not close properly if you attach the wing tips or ear tips in the wrong direction.

Note: To save energy, unplug the charger when not in use. The charger does not have a power switch, so you must unplug the charger from the electric socket when not in use to avoid wasting power. The charger should remain close to the electric socket and easily accessible while charging.

You can check the status of the earbuds and the charging case by looking at the battery indicator light. The case can be charged without inserting the earbuds; when they are inserted, the earbuds and case will charge simultaneously.

Note: If the battery indicator lights do not work as described, disconnect the charger from the charging case and reconnect it.

Take care of your earbuds by keeping these charging tips and precautions in mind.

  • If there is sweat or liquid on the charging contacts, corrosion may occur on the Galaxy Buds+. When there is sweat or liquid on the charging contacts or earbuds, clean them before inserting the earbuds in the charging case.
  • Using a power source other than the charger, such as a computer, may result in a slower charging speed due to a lower electric current.
  • While charging, the earbuds and the charging case may heat up. This is normal and should not affect the earbuds’ lifespan or performance. If the battery gets hotter than usual, the charger may stop charging. If this occurs during wireless charging, disconnect the Galaxy Buds+ from the charger to let them cool down, then charge the Galaxy Buds+ again later.
  • If you charge the Galaxy Buds+ while the charger port is wet, the Galaxy Buds+ may be damaged. Thoroughly dry the charger port before charging the Galaxy Buds+.
  • Avoid bending the USB cable. Doing so may damage or reduce the lifespan of the USB cable. Never use a damaged USB cable.

Knowing how to conserve battery power on your earbuds can be helpful as it only takes a couple adjustments.

Tip 1. When you are not using the earbuds, store them in the charged charging case with the cover closed.

Tip 2. You may change the notification settings from the Galaxy Wearable app on the connected phone. When using iOS, you can adjust the notification settings in the Galaxy Buds+ app.

Note:

  • Use only Samsung-approved charging devices and accessories. Samsung accessories are designed for your device to maximize battery life. Using other accessories may void your warranty and may cause damage.
  • Device screenshots and menu may vary depending on the device model and software version.
