How to import and export contacts on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Importing and exporting contacts to and from your SIM card allows you to manage your contact list and transfer your contacts easily between your SIM card and your smartphone.

Follow these steps to import or export contacts.

Step 1. Open your Contacts app and tap the menu icon. It will appear as three lines in the upper left of the screen

Step 2. Tap ‘Manage contacts’

Step 3. Tap ‘Import or export contacts’

Step 4. Tap ‘Import’ to move files from a SIM card to your phone

Step 5. Select ‘SIM card’

Step 6. Select the contacts you wish to import

Step 7. Tap 'Done' then tap ‘Phone’ 

Step 8. Tap ‘Import’ to move your contacts. The selected contact will be imported from your ‘SIM card’ to your phone.

Step 9. Tap 'OK'

Step 2. Tap ‘Manage contacts’

Step 3. Tap ‘Import or export contacts’

Step 4. Tap ‘Export’ then select ‘SIM card’

Step 5. Select the contacts you wish to import then tap ‘Done’

Step 6. Tap ‘Export’. The contact’s name and phone number will be copied to your ‘SIM’, but any other contact info may be lost. The name and phone number may be cut off if they are too long.

Step 7.  Tap ‘Export’ to confirm then tap ‘OK’
