How to connect the Smart Monitor M80B dedicated camera

You can connect and use a dedicated camera that fits your Smart Monitor.

Connect an adapter to the camera’s terminal. After attaching your camera to the indent on the back of your monitor, navigate to Connected devices > Sources > Samsung SlimFit Camera to check your camera.

Step 1. Connect the adapter to the camera's terminal.

Step 2. Attach your camera to the indent on the back of your monitor.

Step 3. Navigate to Home > Menu > Connected Devices > Sources to check your camera.

Step 4. Check that the video captured from your camera is displayed on-screen.

Note:

  • Supported camera resolution: 1920x1080, 30fps(FHD)
  • Field of view: 85 degrees

Check your Camera connection

Because the dedicated camera is a contact-type connection that uses magnets, you should check that your camera is correctly attached to the indent on the back of your monitor if the dedicated camera screen does not appear. Remove your camera, then try reattaching it, gently pressing the connection point.

Check your Menu settings

Depending on your USB Source setup, the source that your dedicated camera can use may vary. Please check the USB Source Setup from the monitor’s menu.

  • Auto: Use a camera from the monitor or a PC connected to USB-C, depending on the display status of the monitor.
  • USB-C: Use a camera from a PC connected to USB-C.
  • Monitor: Use a camera from certain apps on the monitor.

Check your PC connection

To use the camera of the connected PC, the PC must be connected to the monitor by USB-C.

If your PC supports USB-C output, connect to the USB-C cable (USB-C 3.1 Gen2 10G). If your PC is connected to your monitor by HDMI, connect a USB-C to A cable additionally.

Note:

  • The PC must be connected to the left port (when looked at from the back of the monitor) of the two USB-C ports.

Check the camera recognition on your PC

Check the Control Panel of the Windows PC connected to USB-C to ensure that the camera is recognized.

If you run the Windows Camera app, the CAM video is displayed.

You can connect a dedicated camera and use it for video calls, home training and other new features. It is not supported on some apps, such as the Internet app (Browser).

Step 1. Press the Home button on the Smart Remote and navigate to Menu > Connected Devices.

Step 2. From source, select Camera.

Step 3. Select from Get Together on Video Calls/View Workout Video and Yourself/Workout the Smart Way.

Note:

  • Users can use the Google Duo app for video calls, and both the user making the call and the user(s) receiving the call must be registered with Google Duo.
    To make or receive calls on Duo from your Samsung Smart Monitor, Duo must be able to use the Samsung Smart Monitor's camera and microphone.
    Duo will only access the Samsung Smart Monitor's camera and microphone while the user uses Duo.
  • Supported apps may vary by region.

To go to All settings, press the Home button for 2 seconds > Up button 1 time from the Virtual number pad window > All Settings.

Note:

  • If you are having trouble with your Samsung Smart Monitor, you should always check to see if there are any software updates available as these may contain a fix for your problem.
  • Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.
