How to use File History on Samsung Windows 8 PC?

Using Windows 8 File History

Connect an external storage device to your PC

On the Windows 8 Start Screen, right click on an empty space

Click All Apps and click Control Panel from Windows system folder

Edit View by settings to Category then click System and Security

Click File history > Select drive

Select your desired drive and click OK

Click Turn on button to open File History

Click Exclude folders > Add button

Choose the folders you want to exclude from History and click Select Folder

Click Save changes button to complete the saving process

Click Advanced Settings to set the file copy cycle and the time period of keeping the saved versions

Clicking Run now saves the duplicate immediately even if it's not a designated time to save
Windows 8 Authentication by Telephone

Click Go to PC settings button when an authentication dialog box appears

Open Activate Windows and click Activate by phone button

Find available phone numbers for activation. When this dialog box appears, select the country and click Next

As the activation screen shows up, call one of the MS phone numbers (either pay or free), and follow the telephone prompts (step 1)

Based on the phone number in step 2, proceed with Enter the installation ID provided by the phone call in step 3

Click Activate button to complete the authentication process
Restoring Your Files with File History

Ensure an external storage device is connected to the PC and click Restore personal files
2
Use the left/right button for access to the current recovery point
3
Choose the file to restore and click Restore
4
To restore the file on another folder, click option button in the upper right corer, and click Restore to
5
Head to the folder where the file used to reside, and find the restored file
