Why does the door latch in washing machine seem loose?

It is normal if the door latch seems loose in the Washing Machine. The door latch is designed to be movable, so the locking mechanism in the Washer chassis can properly grab the latch.
If the latch were rigid, the lock mechanism would not grab the latch properly and cause an error code Dl.
