How to use Private Mode in Galaxy Tab S Series?

Use the Private Mode to prevent others from using or accessing specific content, such as images and documents stored on the device. You can save content to a specific location and deactivate private mode to hide items securely. To use Private Mode feature, follow these steps:

1 On the Apps screen, tap Settings > DEVICE > Private mode. Tap the Privatemode switch to activate it. Alternatively, open the quick setting/notification panel and tap Privatemode to activate it

Please note: When you activate private mode for the first time, set an unlock code and a backup PIN

2 Enter the private mode unlock code
3 To select items to hide, tap and hold an item in the list, tick items to select, and then tap the three vertical dots icon > Move to Private
4 When you have selected the items to hide, open the Apps screen, tap Settings > DEVICE > Private mode, and then tap the Private mode switch to deactivate it.Alternatively, open the quick setting/notification panel and tap Private mode to deactivate it. The selected items will disappear from the screen

Please note: Ensure that all files are saved or moved properly before deactivating private mode

To view hidden items,  activate private mode and follow these steps:

1 On the Apps screen, tap Settings > DEVICE > Private mode. Tap the Privatemode switch to activate it. Alternatively, open the quick setting/notification panel and tap Privatemode to activate it
2 Enter the private mode unlock code
3 On the Apps screen, tap My Files > Private.All items moved in private mode appear on the screen
1 On the Settings screen, tap Privacy > Private mode, and then tap the switch to activateit

2 Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the preset private mode access code.
3 On the Apps screen, launch an app to hide items
4 Select an item and tap MORE > Move to Private. If private mode is not activated, follow the on-screen instructions to enter the presetprivate mode access code

To view hidden items,  activate private mode and follow these steps:

1 On the Settings screen, tap Privacy > Private mode, and then tap the switch to activateit
2 Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the preset private mode access code
3 On the Apps screen, tap My Files > Private.Items moved to the private folder will appear on the screen

Secure Folder protects your private content and apps, such as photos and notes, from being accessed by others. You can keep your private content and apps secure even when the device is unlocked. To create Secure Folder, follow these steps:

1 On the Apps screen, tap Settings > Lock screen and security > Secure Folder
2 Tap SIGN IN and sign in to your Samsung account
3 Select a lock method to use for Secure Folder and follow the on-screen instructions tocomplete the setup.
A shortcut to Secure Folder will be added to the Home screen and the Apps screen

Please note: If you forget your Secure Folder unlock code, you can reset it using your Samsung account. Tap the reset button that appears when an incorrect unlock code is entered and enter your Samsung account password

You can set the device to automatically lock Secure Folder when it is not being used.

1 On the Apps screen, tap Samsung > Secure Folder.
3 Select a lock option
2 Tap the three vertical dots icon > Settings > Auto lock Secure Folder

Please note: To manually lock your Secure Folder, tap Lock

To move contents such as photos and contacts to Secure Folder, follow these steps

Please note: Moving an image to Secure Folder is an example used for the following process

1 On the Apps screen, tap Gallery
2 Select an image and tap the three vertical dots icon > Move to Secure Folder

Please note: You can move content from Secure Folder to the corresponding app in the default storage. Select an item and tap > Move out of Secure Folder
