High-capacity Hard Drives
Samsung has introduced a RAID Class 3.5" SATA hard drive with a one terabyte capacity. The new 3.5” Spinpoint F1R offers the world's highest three-platter recording density and has a mean time between failures of up to 1.2 million hours. It’s designed for large databases, email servers, web servers, super computing, data warehousing, video surveillance, call centers and nearline/backup storage systems. Extremely power efficient, the Spinpoint F1R uses an average of 6.7 watts when idle and 7.2 watts in random seek mode.

Samsung also has begun shipping the world's first 500GB 2.5" mobile hard drive, designed for notebooks, other slim form-factor PCs and for high-density mobile applications. The Spinpoint M6 consists of three 167GB platters and meets Microsoft fast-boot design requirements. The 500GB drive can store 160,000 digital images, 125 hours of DVD movies or 60 hours of high definition video.
