SAMSUNG SDS and 3 Venture Firms Form an E-Learning "Dream Team" to Open Overseas Markets

Samsung SDS (CEO Hong-Ki Kim) is seeking to open overseas e-learning market with its "dream team" formed through a coalition with leaders in each field of e-learning technology.

∋Samsung Multicampus (www.multicampus.co.kr), Samsung SDS' IT educational institution, announced on May 26 that it has formed an e-learning "dream team" to open overseas markets by signing strategic partnership agreements with 3 venture firms in Korea. The 3 venture firms are leaders their respective fields of distance learning system construction, contents design and development in Korea.

∋Members of the "dream team" includes e-campus (www.e-Campus.co.kr), which is the distance learning site of Samsung Multicampus; Nexgen Associates (www.Nexgens.com), which specializes in educational system development; 4C Soft (www.4csoft.com) specializing in tools for contents development, and Comliving.com (www.comliving.com) with strengths in contents development. The 4 companies will expand their previous cooperative relationships with Samsung SDS' e-Campus, and entire scope of e-learning, from system construction to contents development and services, will be integrated to increase competitiveness in the field of e-learning.

∋In particular, the "dream team" has chosen to focus its efforts on the US, China and Japan to provide total e-learning services from system construction to contents. At the same time, each company would utilize Samsung SDS' global network to market its individual products and services, and revenue generated from such sales would be divided among the four companies.

∋Furthermore, the "dream team" would concentrate on providing solutions, systems and contents to educational institutions such as colleges in the domestic market. With the accumulated contents, it plans to provide public services for contents in each major field of study.

∋Regarding the formation of the e-learning "dream team," Byung-Soo Ryu, Director of Samsung Multicampus, said, "We will be able to provide the best service possible in line with the rapid growth in the e-learning market with cooperation from leaders of different sectors of the industry." He added that the "dream team" would receive warm reception in overseas markets such as the US and China, where the market growth is prominent, through the alliance with the companies with strengths in educational solutions and contents and portfolio that fit the current market conditions.

∋On the other hand, the 3 firms that joined Samsung SDS to form the "dream team," Nexgen Associates (constructed distance learning system eduPort) and 4C Soft (Active Tutor: a contents development tool) and Comliving.com (educational contents development), are the leading venture companies in terms of revenue and technology in each respective sector of the industry.
