High-Quality Digital Speaker Developed

For the first time in Korea, Samsung Electro-Mechanics succeeded in developing a speaker with USB (Universal Serial Bus) specifications, which can reproduce both digital and analogue signals simultaneously.
In preparation for the launch of WIN '98, scheduled for June, Samsung designed this WIN '98-compatible speaker based on USB specifications.

The advantage of Samsung's USB speaker is its dual-mode capability which was designed for compatibility to WIN'98 as well as the existing PCs which utilize sound cards. In regard to sound quality, Samsung resolved the chronic problem of noise interference related to existing sound cards, thus enabling the reproduction of clearer sound.

It is expected that Samsung will achieve sales of some 80 billion won by 1999 when the market for digital speakers fully develops.
