SAMSUNG Names YJ Park President Of U.S. InformationTechnology Division

Irvine, CA -- Samsung, the global consumer electronics and information technology leader, names Yong Jin Park President of the Information Technology Division of Samsung Electronics America, Inc., which is based in Irvine, CA. Mr. Park is a 23-year veteran of Samsung with extensive international and Samsung headquarters experience.
As President of Samsung's Information Technology Division (ITD), Mr. Park is responsible for overseeing all product sales, marketing, and operational activities in the U.S. marketplace for Samsung’s award-winning line of information technology products. These top-tier product groups include LCD and CRT computer monitors, large-screen LCD and plasma displays for the commercial and Pro A/V marketplace, monochrome and color laser printers and multifunction products.

Prior to being named President of Samsung’s Information Technology Division in the U.S., Mr. Park held the position of President, Samsung Electronics Latin America from 2001 to present. Based in Panama, Mr. Park led Samsung in the Central America, Andean and Caribbean markets, composed of more than 30 countries.
From 1996 to 2001, Mr. Park was based in Korea, leading sales and marketing efforts for Samsung’s display division. From 1990 to 1996 he was based in the U.S., in charge of sales and marketing for the company’s consumer electronics division. Prior to that, Mr. Park held various high-level sales and marketing positions with Samsung at its Korean headquarters.
Mr. Park replaces TH Kim as President of Samsung’s Information Technology Division. Mr. Kim completed his expatriate rotation with Samsung in the U.S. and has retired after 30 years of successful and dedicated service to the company.
