SAMSUNG becomes multi-category Prestige Partner of the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006

Samsung signs agreement in support of the Asian Games




Doha , Qatar - 12 December 2005 : The Olympic Council of Asia and the Doha Asian Games Organising Committee officially signed a partnership agreement with the global leader in digital technology, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. as a Prestige Partner. The partnership includes exclusivity in the audio/visual equipment, Household Appliances and mobile telecommunications hardware categories for the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006.
Samsung Electronics announce d that the company will continue its partnership with the Olympic Council of Asia and the Doha Asian Games Organising Committee (DAGOC) as a continuation of its support to the Asian Games since 1986.
Mr. Husain Al-Musallam, Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, Mr. Abdulla Khalid Al Qahtani, Director General of DAGOC and Mr. Sunny Hwang , Vice President and Head of Worldwide Sports Marketing of Samsung Electronics signed the agreement designating Samsung Electronics as Prestige Partner of the 15 th Asian Games Doha 2006 in a ceremony held in Doha today.
“We are very pleased to welcome Samsung Electronics to the 15 th Asian Games Doha 2006. Samsung Electronics is a long-term supporter of the Asian Games since 1986 in Seoul ,” said Mr. Al-Musallam.
“The partnership we have with Samsung as the Olympic Council of Asia comes at a time when Doha 's progress is already exceeding all expectations. This will be a fruitful partnership , ” Al Musallam added.
Under the agreement, Samsung Electronics will provide financial and technical support to the Asian Games Doha 2006. In addition, Samsung's audio/visual equipment, mobile telecommunications hardware and household appliances will be used on site at the Games by organizers, staff, media and volunteers. The se products, along with Samsung's technical expertise, are integral for a seamless execution of the Games. Moreover, Samsung's support will help athletes, officials and fans share the exciting moments of the 15 th Asian Games.
Mr. Al Qahtani of DAGOC congratulated Samsung Electronics as a Prestige Partner and expressed his appreciation of Samsung's contribution to Asia 's largest sporting event.

Samsung's full commitment to the Asian Games started in 1998, participating as an official partner of the Bangkok Asian Games and as a multi-category sponsor in the Busan Asian Games in 2002.
