Verizon Wireless Cell Phones: What Is World Time And How Do I Use It On My SCH-I910 (Omnia) Phone?

What Is World Time And How Do I Use It On My SCH-I910 (Omnia) Phone?

World Clock allows you to view the time of day or night in 100 different cities around the world, within all 24 time zones. World Clock is very useful when traveling because you can not only view your home time but also two other time zones as well.  When using the Dual Clock feature it is not only possible to see your local time zone but also the visiting time zone quickly from the Today screen.

To view the World Clock follow the steps below:

  1. From the Today screen, tap on Start
  2. Tap on Programs
  3. Tap on Clock
  4. Tap on the drop down arrow, located near the top
  5. Tap on World Clock
  6. Tap on the world map then scroll left or right and up or down to view cities around the world

Note: Although the SCH-I910 (Omnia) handset will automatically update, if enabled, the time and date while inside the Verizon Wireless digital network, it does not automatically change appointment times when traveling to another time zone. To ensure that you don’t miss appointments, change the clock setting to Visiting and then select the appropriate time zone.

To display dual clocks follow the steps below:

  1. From the Today screen, open the widget bar
  2. Scroll down to the dual clock
  3. Drag the Dual Clock to the Today screen

To set the home & visiting time zones follow the steps below:

  1. From the Today screen, tap on Start
  2. Tap on Settings
  3. Tap on the System tab, located at the bottom, then tap on Clock & Alarms
  4. From the Time tab, at the bottom, tap on Home
  5. Tap on the current time zone's down arrow then tap on the correct Home Time zone
  6. Tap on the current time's up or down arrows to set the correct Home Time
  7. Tap on the current date's up or down arrows to set the correct Home date
  8. From the Time tab, at the bottom, tap on Visiting
  9. Repeat the steps above to set the Visiting settings
  10. Tap on OK, at the top right corner, to save the Clock & Alarm settings

Note: Changes may not take effect until the handset is power cycled (turned off then turned on again)
