The Media Access Control (MAC) address is a unique hardware identifier used when connecting to a network. Under most security schemas, the MAC information is not needed to allow a connection to the wireless access point. For networks with increased security, the router may be configured to allow for specific MAC filtering. If this filtering is enabled, the device will be unable to connect until the admin adds the unique MAC address to the exception list. To locate the MAC, follow the steps below.
