Samsung Blu-ray players sold in the US are compatible with the following Samsung Wireless Adapters:
The BD-E5300, BD-D5100, and HT-E3500 are the only models that do not support any of the wireless adapters listed above, they support a wired LAN connection only.

The major differences between the two are the type of frequencies (channels) they offer and the WiFi protocols they support. The 2.4GHz ISM band offers 3 non overlapping channels while the 5GHz offers at least 20. 2.4GHz is widely used throughout the US by consumer products such as PC notebooks, PDA, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones and microwaves.
802.11b and 802.11g both operate on the 2.4GHz band while 802.11a uses 5Ghz. 802.11n on the other hand can use both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.
The type of performance obtained does not depend on higher or lower frequencies but on the type of environment. For example 802.11a runs only on the 5GHz band and supports a maximum data rate of 54 mbps which is the same as 802.11g running on the 2.4GHz band. Also, keep in mind that higher frequencies have a shorter range and do not penetrate solid objects as well as the 2.4GHz band does.
