Yes, the SGH-A697 (Sunburst) handset provides the ability to playback MP3 files, assign them as a contact ringtone, alarm tone or as the incoming call ringtone. The music player supports the following audio file types: MP3, M4A, WMA, MP4 (AAC), 3GP (AMR), 3GP (AAC), WAV, MIDI and AMR.
Note: Audio files less than 300 KB are treated as ringtones, whereas audio files which are greater than 300 KB are considered as Music. You cannot set an MP3 file as a ringtone if it is larger than 300 KB.
You can also purchase a variety of multimedia files, such as ringtones, graphics, applications, multimedia contents, and so on using the Internet browser and download them to your phone’s memory. The phone has embedded links to the websites providing you with download services, preset by your service provider.
