Sprint Cell Phones: How do I update the software on my Samsung Galaxy S® III to MD4?
Samsung Galaxy S® III Software Update for Sprint
If your current software version is L710VPMB1, you will receive a network notification for the L710VPMD4 software update. The update process will be performed OTA (Over the Air). It may take several minutes to complete.
How Do I Check My Current Software Version?
- From any home screen touch Menu > Settings > About device.
- Scroll to the bottom and look for Baseband Version. It will be L710VPMD4 after the update.
What Will This Update Do?
This update will address the following:
- Home screen security fix
- Multi-view: Split Screen multitasking support
- Camera feature and gallery enhancements
- Addition of Paper Artist
- Bulk SMS Enhancement
How Do I Get This Update?
Software updates will automatically download to your phone with an option to install now or install later. If you choose install now, your phone will reboot and begin installation; just follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the update. If you choose install later, you will receive reminders once or twice a day to install the update until it is complete.
Important Notes
- Your battery should be fully charged before starting the software update. Do not remove the battery during the update process.
