Touch the "create contact" button
and select the location/account you want to add the contact to. The fields available when creating the contact depend on the location/account you select. We will cover adding a new contact to Phone
. When you add contacts to Phone, they will not be synchronized to your Exchange ActiveSync® or online accounts, such as your Google™ Account.
The following default options are available when creating a contact:
Touch Save at the top of the screen to save the new contact.
When editing an existing contact, you can touch a field and change or delete the information, or you can add more fields to the contact's list of information.
Once you have added contacts, you can initiate a phone call, chat, message, or email from the Contacts app. You can quickly call anyone in your contacts list by touching the contact and sliding your finger to the right side of the screen.
You can quickly create a text message by touching the contact and sliding your finger to the left side of the screen.
Also, you can touch the contact name you want to communicate with and then:

.Your device can join your contacts with multiple accounts, such as Facebook®, Corporate email, and Google. When you synchronize your phone with these accounts, each account creates a separate entry in the Contacts list.
If one of your contacts, like Ruth Davidson in the image below, has a contact maintained in Gmail™, and also has an entry stored in Phone, you can join the two entries together.
The information is still kept separate in the two locations, but only one entry will be shown in your contacts list. The next time you synchronize your phone with your accounts, any changes made to the joined contact in either location will automatically update in your contacts list.
> Join contact.
When a contact has multiple options in a field, or when joined contacts present multiple options, such as two phone numbers, you can set default contact preferences.
> Mark as default. The "mark as default" screen displays radio buttons next to the contact's caller ID image, name, phone numbers, or email addresses of all the linked contacts.
From the Contacts tab, touch Menu
, and the following options display:
Open a contact and touch Menu
for the following options:
> Create.
> Remove member. When you call some of your contacts, you may need to enter an extension number. For instance, you might have a recurring conference call you need a conference ID for when you dial in.
Instead of manually entering the numbers each time, you can store the numbers in your contacts along with special characters called pauses and waits. A pause will stop the calling sequence for two seconds, and then send any additional tones. A wait will cause the dialing process to stop and wait for you to enter a number or touch a key on the dial screen before it sends any additional tones.
You can set up a personal contact profile to share your contact details easily with others. When you open Contacts, you will see either the name you entered when you first turned on your device, or Set up profile at the top of your contacts list under ME.
Note: If you have opened Google+™ and are a member of the service, your Google+ profile will be shown under ME.
Touch your name, then Edit
or Set up profile to add or edit the details of your profile. Your personal contact profile allows you to enter the same details you can for a contact.
If you want to share your profile with someone, open your profile and touch Menu
> Share namecard via.
