Sync Outlook® Contacts with Kies

You can download the Kies software by visiting the Kies website.

  1. Open the Samsung Kies software.
  2. Connect your device to your PC using the supplied USB cable.
  3. Your device should connect automatically and will show in the left panel of Kies.
  4. Click the Sync tab.

  6. Click the checkbox for Sync contacts with and choose Outlook.

  7. Click Sync to begin syncing your contacts to your device.

Export Contacts from Outlook

If you currently keep your contacts in Outlook® and want to transfer them to your device, you can export contacts from Outlook to a comma-separated value (.csv) file and import those contacts into your Google™ Account for synchronization to your device. To export contacts in Outlook 2010:

  1. Open Outlook and click File > Options > Advanced > Export.

  2. Click the option to Export to a file and click Next.

  3. Click the option for Comma Separated Values (Windows).

  4. Select the Contacts folder you want to export from.

  5. Give the contacts file a name. Click Browse to select the location you want the files saved to.

  6. Review the information on the screen. If you have any custom fields in your contacts, you can click Map Custom Fields... to select how the export should handle them. When you are done, click Finish.

Export Contacts from Address Book

If you currently keep contacts in your Mac® Address Book and want to transfer them to your device, you can export your contacts from Address Book to a vCard file (.vcf) and import those contacts into your Google™ Account for synchronization to your device.

To export your contacts using Address Book:

  1. Open Address Book and click File > Export > Export vCard.

  2. Give your export file a name, select the location you wish to save it to, and click Save.

Import to the Device Using Kies

You can import contact database files saved on your computer into your device. You can import contacts databases in the following formats: .CSV, .LEF, .NPF, .SPB, and .VCF.

Note: This option is only available on the Kies for Windows version. If you do not see the device's name in the left panel, you may be running Kies in Lite mode. Click View > Switch Mode > Normal Mode or click the mode shortcut in the top-right corner of the window to return Kies to "normal" mode.

  1. Connect the device to your computer.
  2. Open Kies.
  3. Click Contacts below your device's name in the left panel.

  4. Click Import from PC.

  5. Select the contacts database file and click Open.

  6. Some contacts database files may contain multiple contacts folders. If you see a screen similar to the one below, select the folders you want to import into the device and click OK. Any contacts imported will be saved to the device's local storage and will not be synced with any online accounts you have set up on the device.

  7. The contacts are displayed in the device's contacts library, but they are not yet saved to the device. You can edit the contacts and remove any unneccessary contacts from the list. When you are satisfied, click Save to device.
