At boot up, by default, the LCD brightness of your notebook is at its brightest (Level 8) if you've connected the notebook to the AC power adapter. It becomes dimmer automatically if your notebook is running on battery power to conserve energy.
For notebooks with an ambient light sensor, the ambient light sensor detects external, ambient illumination and automatically controls the LCD brightness accordingly. However, the ambient light sensor only works when the computer is operating on battery power.
Note: If you do not have Samsung Easy Display Manager installed, you will not be able to adjust the LCD brightness as described below. To adjust the LCD brightness, you must use the Power options instead.
Press the Function key and the up arrow to increase the brightness level. LCD brightness has 8 levels. Each time you press the up arrow, the brightness increases by 1 level.
Press the Function key and the bottom arrow to decrease the brightness level. The on screen LCD indicator appears briefly on your LCD screen, showing the current brightness level.
To maintain the LCD brightness you've set with or without the AC adapter connected, follow these steps:
Note: Regardless of which option you choose, you can still increase or decrease the brightness by pressing the function key and the up or down arrow key.
