Is it possible to use the fingerprint feature after attaching protection film?

Last Update date : Oct 30. 2020

• The device may not recognize fingerprints when attaching a protective film or screen protector unapproved by Samsung. Attaching thick protective films or glass-type protective films may also decrease the fingerprint recognition rate. We recommend you use only Samsung-approved accessories and you can purchase Samsung-approved protective film from your local Samsung retailer or an authorized Samsung Service Centre.

• The device may not recognize fingerprints when the screen protector/protective film is not attached clearly and tightly on the device’s screen. Air gaps or foreign substances between the protective film and screen may decrease the fingerprint recognition rate. We recommend you attach it again.

• Ensure that the screen protector or the touchscreen on the fingerprint recognition sensor area is not scratched or damaged by objects such as coins, keys, pens, and necklaces. If the protective film/screen protector is dirty or scratched, please replace it with a new one. We recommend that you register your fingerprint again for a better fingerprint recognition rate after replacing the protective film.
