How to manage Samsung Wallet if your phone is missing

Last Update date : Apr 11. 2023

Samsung Wallet is much more secure and has more complex and sophisticated security layers that give you more peace of mind when operating the app. However, if you lose your phone you should know what to do.

How to manage Samsung Wallet if your phone is missing

If you lose your phone, you can use Samsung's Find My Mobile service and other security features to remotely lock or erase your payment cards in Samsung Wallet.

If you are unable to lock Samsung Wallet, contact the card issuer immediately by calling the number on the back of your physical payment card. When you lock your phone through Find My Mobile, Samsung Wallet will be automatically locked too. Samsung Wallet will request the card issuer to suspend any transactions made on your phone until you find it and re-verify your identity.

Remotely lock Samsung Wallet and reset the phone

Note: Make sure you have all the Find My Mobile requirements already set in place in case you ever lose your phone.

1 On a computer, navigate to the Find My Mobile website. Select Sign in if the home screen of Find My Mobile is displayed. Otherwise, skip to the next step.
2 Log in to your Samsung account by entering your email address and selecting Next. Then, enter your password and select Sign in.
3 Select your phone from the list of devices (in the menu on the left) and when it's located, select Lock.
Select your phone from the list of devices (in the menu on the left) and when it's located, select Lock.
4 Select Next and enter the necessary information. In particular, you will have to set a PIN to secure the access to your mobile device. Next, select Lock. Now, no one will be able to access your info or Samsung Wallet without your new PIN code.
5 In the worst case scenario, you can reset your phone. Remember, resetting your phone will completely wipe its data, including your Samsung Wallet information. As a preparation, make sure to select the Back up option in Find My Mobile or take other backup measures before resetting your phone.
6 When you are ready, select Erase data. Read the warning message, and then select Erase. Then, follow the prompts to complete the procedure (you may need to sign in to your Samsung account).

Note: If the phone is reset, you will need to sign into your Samsung account on the phone to restore data from the backup. If a Google account is registered on the phone, you'll need to sign into the Google account on the phone before you can use the phone again.
