Secure your Samsung Galaxy devices
Losing your phone or other Galaxy devices can be extremely stressful and upsetting. After all, from banking information to invaluable memories, your whole life is stored on that phone. Most Galaxy devices come with Find My Mobile built-in. To use this feature at the time of need, make sure you are signed in to you Samsung account and a few other requirements to completely set up your device. There are also other services you can use to locate your device; see which service fits you best.
Information provided applies to devices sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary for devices sold in other countries.
Before you can access your phone from your computer or the Find My Mobile website, the Remote controls feature on your phone must be on. From your phone, navigate to Settings. Search for and select Find My Mobile, and then tap Find My Mobile again. Tap the switch at the top of the page. Adding a Samsung account to your phone will turn this feature on automatically, but it's always good to double-check.
You can also turn on Remote unlock from the same screen. This feature will let you unlock your phone using the Find My Mobile website if you ever forget your password. Just tap the switch next to "Remote unlock", and then follow the on-screen instructions to finish.
In order to use Find My Mobile, these conditions must be met:
- The phone must be turned on.
- The phone must be connected to a stable network connection.
- A Samsung account must be added to your phone.
- Remote controls must be enabled on the phone. This feature will be turned on by default when you add a Samsung account to your phone.
- Remote unlock must be activated in order to use the Find My Mobile unlock feature.
In order to use Find My Watch, these conditions must be met:
- The watch must be turned on.
- The watch must be connected to the phone through the Galaxy Wearable app with a stable Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or LTE network connection.
- The phone connected to the watch must have a Samsung account added.
- The watch must have Remote connection enabled. Be aware that Remote connection and Remote controls are two different features.
In order to use Find My Earbuds, these conditions must be met:
- The earbuds must be turned on.
- The earbuds must be connected to a phone through the Galaxy Wearable app.
- The phone connected to the earbuds must have a Samsung account added.
Note: Find My Mobile will allow you to set a Guardian, or a specific person, who can access your device if there's an emergency. A Guardian will be able to locate your device for you, enable Emergency mode, and monitor the device's battery life.
Google's Find My Device is built into Android devices through Google Play Services. This means you will need a Google account to use this service. You can set a new password, make your phone ring, display a message, lock and wipe your phone, and more. To verify this feature is turned on, from Settings, tap Google, tap Security, and then tap Find My Device. If off, tap the switch to turn on. If you added a Google account to your phone, this feature is automatically turned on.
Note: Google's Find My Device only works on phones and tablets.
