Communication Manager, supporting flexible wireless communication in enterprises

Samsung Communication Manager
Communication Manager (CM) from Samsung is a platform providing various smartphone-based communication services in a flexible manner. It not only provides differentiated mobile unified communication (UC) through interconnection with WE Work but also allows you to enjoy streamlined services regardless of the types of network by interconnecting with WE WLAN (AP, APC, etc.).

In addition, Samsung CM provides you with enterprise mobility and various additional services by using smartphones as an office telephone in the company. Let’s take a look at the special functions of Samsung CM.



(1) Office phone into smartphone

By providing various functions with interconnection using WE VoIP, which is Samsung VoIP Client installed on smartphones, flexible communication in the business environment is ensured even without wire desk phones.


① Wait and Later functions

How do you handle an incoming call to your smartphone during a meeting? If you should answer the call because it is important, you would need to leave the conference room to take the call. And what if the call is cut off as you go out? You might call back. In such a situation, a Wait function would be very useful. When you receive a call in the middle of a meeting or while reporting, you can push the Wait button to have the caller wait for a while without hanging up the phone by sending the voice message "Please wait a moment." It might seem quite a simple function, but this function would be helpful in saving company communication expenses to some extent since the caller can wait without hanging up the phone based on the awareness that you will pick up the phone soon. You therefore does not need to call the caller back.

Meanwhile, the Later function can be used when you do not want to hurt the feelings of a caller in a situation where you cannot answer the phone. Push the Later button to send the voice message "I will call you back later" while your phone is ringing and the caller will hang up expecting that you will call him/her back as soon as you have completed the urgent task.


② Call back

It can sometimes happen that you forget to call someone back after thinking you will call later if the person you are calling is on the other phone. The desk phone in the office supports the Call Back function to make a call when the person being called hangs the phone up. Such functions are now available on smartphones. It plays the role of a personal secretary to ensure you do not forget to place calls.

In addition, the required functions for a desk phone, such as Conference, Transfer, Hold, Hold during call, DTMF, etc. are provided.



(2) Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) function through WE CM

With interconnection not only using WE VoIP but also with desk phones from Samsung, WE CM provides you with efficient communication by delivering various FMC functions.


① Multi-Ring / Multi-Device

The Multi-Ring function makes a desk phone and smartphone ring simultaneously when there is an external call; and the Multi-Device function gives a smartphone an identical extension number to ring for an internal call as well. Since the desk phone and smartphone can have the same extension number, Multi-Device function provides the same Caller ID (CID) to other people inside and outside of the company regardless of whether the desk phone or smartphone is being used. (Multi-Device). By taking advantage of Samsung CM, WE VoIP, and desk phone, you can make convenient and comfortable calls in any situation.


② Call Move

When an FMC user wants to continue his or her call with a desk phone in the middle of using a smartphone due to shortage of battery or a seemingly long call, he or she is able to use the Call Move function. This function might be used in the opposite way to continue the call with a smartphone in the middle of call using a desk phone to move to other locations. With the Move button preset on a desk phone, a call might be continued without a break between wire and wireless communication devices.



(3) Smart Routing

If you use the mobile phone number instead of 4-5 digits of the extension number to call your colleague in a office, the routing system becomes worthless in your company. Smart Routing function, which is effective in saving communication expenses, changes a mobile phone number to the extension number when you call your colleague at his/her mobile phone number within the office. When the colleague you want to call is out of office, WE CM determines the situation and does not change to the extension number.

(4) WE VoIP user out of office


① Unregi-FWD

The WE VoIP user can use the Unregi-FWD function if he/she wants to answer a call incoming to his or her work phone even when he or she is out of the office and not in the enterprise Wi-Fi network coverage. WE CM transfers such calls to the WE VoIP user who is out of the office by using the pre-set Unregi-FWD function.

② Remote Dial

When a We VoIP user who is out of the office want to call via his or her company number rather than cell-phone number, the Remote Dial function can be used to make a call. Even when out of the office, a user might chose to call between work phone and 3G phone and the user’s work phone number would be shown as CID to the person they phone when he or she selects work phone. In this case, call expenses for personal cell phones do not arise.

③ Smart Handover / One button Handover

When a WE VoIP user leaves the enterprise Wi-Fi area in the middle of a call, he or she can use the handover function for a seamless call. The user can enjoy such seamless calls while leaving the office without any specific operation when the WLAN of the company is established using Samsung system (Smart Handover). Meanwhile, one click of a button in WE VoIP is enough to have a seamless call by changing to a 3G network even if the WLAN of the company is developed using third party system.
