The Samsung Galaxy S3 was officially announced during the UNPACKED event on May 3 in London. The debut of the device came with the tagline “Designed by humans and inspired by nature,” and millions were preordered across the globe.

Since the announcement of the new mobile device, bloggers and tech news sources have featured the Galaxy S3 and all of its specs in their headlines. One of the main aspects of the phone that has been highlighted across the board is that it features the Exynos 4 Quad. This article is a news roundup of some of the top stories describing the Galaxy S3 and its use of the Exynos 4 Quad.

Samsung Reveals Galaxy S3

Mashable is a Scottish-American news website and Internet news blog that focuses on social media news and developments in mobile, entertainment, and technology. On May 3, they featured the Samsung Galaxy S3 as one of their top stories, and described the phone’s HD Super AMOLED (1280x720) screen, saying it offers “more subpixels than other screens, resulting in improved colors as well as better visibility in bright situations.”

This feature, along with many of the Galaxy S3’s other specs, is made possible by the Samsung Exynos 4 Quad, which uses 20% less power than the Exynos 4 Dual while allowing for twice the processing capability. The SoC includes on-off switching and frequency scaling for each core, which means it consumes exactly the amount of power it needs for any given workload, ensuring a longer battery life for the Galaxy S3.

The release of the Galaxy S3 was also one of the top stories on Android and Me, an online Android news blog founded by Taylor Wimberly. This article explains that the mobile device will be available in two colors, pebble blue and marble white, and will come to 296 mobile operators in 145 countries. I/at also highlights the main specs of the Galaxy S3, from the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) platform and the S Beam feature to, of course, the Exynos 4 Quad processor.

Engadget, another popular consumer electronics blog, featured the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S3 as one of their top stories as well. Their article covered a lot of the same materials the other sources talked about, but also features a photo gallery of press photos from Samsung. They talk about how “crazy levels of interest” for the new smartphone lead up to the event and describe the size and shape of the device. This article also highlights the Exynos 4 Quad, saying it’s “Samsung’s new 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor doing the legwork” for the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been released in several countries, and will be available elsewhere later this summer.
