Galaxy AI Cantonese – Everything is possible!

Galaxy AI supports Cantonese now! Let's hear the big news from Galaxy AI Cantonese Ambassador 193 together!

We love the city and the Cantonese culture as much as you do! Galaxy AI is now supporting Cantonese in different features, including Interpreter, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, Call Assist and Samsung keyboard, etc. Galaxy AI not only knows how to read and write, but also learns the complicated Cantonese colloquialisms to bring you a smarter life in Hong Kong!

We have collaborated with a local illustrator Peep Project to create a set of Cantonese Playing Cards~ We have also invited Denis Kwok 193 to be our Cantonese AI Ambassador to play with Cantonese using Galaxy AI, so as to promote the local culture together!

Let's watch the video and learn from 193!

*Video content is only available in Cantonese.

Cantonese Playing Cards: How to Play

The set of Cantonese Playing Cards look like a deck of poker, but there are many other ways to play with it!

galaxy ai cantonese culture festival

1. At the beginning of each game, pull one card from the deck of Cantonese Playing Cards, and the English translation by Galaxy AI Cantonese below is a small hint for you.

2. Players take turns to be the “judge” (responsible for guessing who is the “genuine”) Then the rest of the players privately draw character cards (self-made character cards are required). Only one the players is the “genuine”, while the rest are 9Uppers.

3. All players have to close their eyes before the game starts, and only the “genuine” can open his eyes for 30 seconds and use Circle to Search in a Galaxy AI device to learn about the origin and allusion of the slang.

4. The game begins. Players take turns to explain the origin of the slang. The “genuine” tells the true origin, while other players make up the origin. The “judge” has to pick the “genuine” out of all players at the end of the game.

1. Participants can be divided into two or three groups, with each group lined up in a straight line.

2. At the beginning of each game, the first participant of each group will pull one card from the deck of Cantonese Playing Cards.

3. The first participant has to memorize the English content of the card, and then tell it to the second participant in English (other participants have to wear earphones to prevent eavesdropping), The second participant will tell the third participant, and so on, until the content is passed to the last participant.

4. The last participant has to guess the Cantonese slang and idiom in English, repeat it to the group and check the answer with Galaxy AI Interpreter. The group with the most correct answers wins.

1. Each player is dealt a card and is not allowed to look at their own card. The players must place the card on their forehead so that other players can see it.

2. Everyone starts discussing how to penalize the person with the lowest card, such as doing a handstand, dancing, singing, etc..

3. After taking turns to propose the punishment, if players suspect that their card is the lowest (Ace is the highest, 2 is the lowest), they can “turn themselves in” to all the players. Then they need to guess the Cantonese slang and idiom on their own card. If they succeeds, the punishment can be avoided and the game will continue; if they fails, they will have to take the punishment proposed by the person who has the highest card, and the game will be over.

4. If the game continues, everyone has to reveal their cards at the same time. The person with the smallest card has to take the punishment from the person with the biggest card.

1. All players sit in a circle and the cards should be shared for each person. Each share of card should includes all 4 suits of the same Cantonese Playing Cards (e.g. if there are 6 people, prepare 6 shares of different Cantonese Playing Cards).

2. Shuffle the prepared cards and deal 4 cards to each player. In each round, they have to pass a card from their hand to the next player clockwise, and at the same time, they have to get a card from the previous player.

3. The goal of the game is to get 4 of the same Cantonese Playing Cards. When you have all 4 of them, you have to shout out the Cantonese slang and idiom you collected and touch your nose; the other players have to follow and touch their own noses as well.

4. The slowest player will become a "Level 1 Pig", and if he/she loses again, he/she will become a "Level 2 Pig" until reaching level 7. Remember not to talk to the Pigs of a different level, otherwise the lower level Pig will be promoted to the opponent's level.

1. Participants can be divided into two or three groups. One group member will face the playing card and give hints while the other members will guess the slang or idiom.

2. A Cantonese Playing Card will be given for each question. The person who gives the hint can only speak English and cannot do any action or use any English word in the Galaxy AI Cantonese translation on the playing card.

3. The team with the highest number of slang and idioms in the card within the time limit wins.
