What is Find My Mobile and how can I use it to locate, lock or wipe my device?

Find My Mobile allows you to locate, lock and/or wipe your device remotely, amongst other features.


You will need to be signed into your Samsung account in order to use Find My Mobile.


You can sign in on your web browser or set up an account on your device.


You will need to enable the Remote Controls feature on your mobile device before you can use the Find My Mobile service

To enable the remote control feature, you will need to:

1 From the home screen, choose Apps or swipe up to access your apps

3 Tap Biometrics and security or Lock screen and security or Security (you may need to scroll down the screen)

4 Tap Find My Mobile.
Tap find my mobile
5 Tap the switch to turn On Find My Mobile. If you do not have a Samsung account on your device, the switch will be greyed out. Tap add account to create your Samsung account.

6 Tap the switches to turn On Remote unlock, Send last location, and Offline finding.
Tap the switches to change the settings
7 If you have already set up your Samsung account on your account, you may need to enter your password

To log into Find My Mobile, you will need to:

1 In a web browser on your computer go to the Find My Mobile site
2 If necessary enter your email address and password and then click Sign In
3 You will be taken to the Locate my mobile page. If you have multiple devices registered you will need to select the one you wish to operate.

To locate your mobile, you will need to:

1 To locate your mobile device, log into the Find My Mobile site, and click Locate my mobile.
2 If this if the first time you've logged in, click the checkbox to agree to the terms and conditions and then click I agree.
3 Find My Mobile will attempt to locate your device. It may take a long time or fail, depending on the network environment and the state of the mobile device. When your device is located its approximate location is indicated by a marker on the map.

You can zoom in and out using the controls in the upper-left corner of the map.

Log into Find My Mobile using the instructions above.


If you cannot find your device, you can use Ring on this screen to ring the device. The device will ring even if set to Silent or Vibrate, and a notification will appear on your smartphone screen.

In addition to locking your device remotely you can display a custom message, allow a phone number that can be called from the locked device, and also unlock the device with a PIN.


Follow the instructions above for logging into Find My Mobile, then:

1 Click Lock on the right hand side of the main page. You will need to choose Lock screen or Lock power off on the pop up box, and then tap Next.

2 Enter the details required, then tap Lock

PIN: This will lock your device to this PIN.

Emergency contact phone number: This will put a phone number on the screen that can be called from the locked device. This number will also be used to send a message if the SIM card has been changed.

Message: You can customise a message to display on your device.

Find my mobile allows you to remotely back up your phone to Samsung Cloud. More information on Samsung cloud can be found here.


Follow the instructions above for logging into Find My Mobile, then:

1 On the Find My Mobile page, click Back up
Click Back up
2 Select the information you want to back up to the Samsung Cloud (you may need to scroll down for this), then click Back up

3 Read and agree to the pop up box, before selecting Back up

Find My Mobile lets you remotely delete all the information on the device or memory card.  Your personal information cannot be recovered after using this feature. After using the Factory Data Reset option you will no longer be able to use the Find My Mobile service.


Follow the instructions above for logging into Find My Mobile, then:

1 On the Find My Mobile page click Erase data
Click Erase
2 Click Erase
Click Erase
3 Enter your Samsung account password
5 Click OK to confirm the wipe. If the device is offline then the wipe will occur when the device next goes online.
Click OK

Find my mobile will show you the last 50 numbers that your device has made or received, for calls and messages. 


Follow the instructions above for logging into Find My Mobile, then:

1 On the Find My Mobile page, click Retrieve calls/messages
Click Retrieve calls / messages
2 Click Retrieve
Click retrieve
3 The last 50 numbers will display on your screen
The last 50 numbers are displayed

Find my phone allows you to unlock your phone remotely when you have forgotten your unlock method.


If you use this function, all of the screen lock information (Pattern, Pin, Password and Biometrics) on your phone will be deleted.


Follow the instructions above for logging into Find My Mobile, then:

1 On the Find My Mobile page, click Unlock
Unlock my device
2 Click Unlock again
Click unlock
3 Sign into your Samsung Account, then click Next. Don't forget to complete the Captcha.
Sign into your Samsung account
4 Your phone has been unlocked
Your phone has been reset

Please note:

  • If you extend the battery life on your device, your data won't be backed up to the Samsung Cloud.
  • Extending the battery life of your device turns off Bluetooth, mobile data and Wi-Fi connections, which means that you will not be able to remotely locate your device.

Find My Mobile allows you to extend your battery life using Ultra or Maximum power saving mode. The name of the mode may differ, depending on the device type and software version.


Follow the instructions above for logging into Find My Mobile, then:

1 On the Find My Mobile page, click Extend battery life
Click Extend battery life
2 Click Extend
Click extend
3 The battery life on your device has been extended
The battery life has now been extended

To disable this feature, swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notifications bar, then tap the Power saving icon.

You can register a person as your guardian who can control your phone remotely. Guardians can control the following functions:


Locate your phone
Extend your phone's battery life
Turn on Emergency mode
Ring phone


Follow the instructions above for logging into Find My Mobile, then:

1 On the Find My Mobile page, click Set Guardian
Click Set Guardian
2 Confirm you have read the information provided, then click Agree
Confirm you have read the information provided, then click agree
3 Click Add new Guardian
Click add new guardian
4 Using an email address, enter the Samsung Account for your chosen guardian, then click Verify
Add a Samsung account, then click verify
5 Confirm the information is correct by clicking OK

6 Set the duration for your guardian, then click set

To edit your Guardian, you will need to click Set Guardian > Edit Guardian

To remove a Guardian from your account you will need to click Set guardian > Remove Guardian > Remove
