What is an OTG (On The Go) adapter

An OTG or On The Go adapter (sometimes called an OTG cable, or OTG connector) allows you to connect a full sized USB flash drive or USB A cable to your phone or tablet through the Micro USB or USB-C type charging port. 

 

You can do the following with an OTG cable:  

 

  • Plug-in Keyboard and MIC with your phone.
  • Access and move data from USB Pen drive and External Hard Drives*.
  • Transfer photos directly from a compatible camera to the phone.
  • Transfer and receive data from one device to another device with the Smart switch app.
  • Connect the smartphone directly to the printer.

Connectivity Issue

To resolve the OTG connectivity issue, please try below steps:

 

1 Check whether your device is OTG compatible or not.
2 Ensure OTG cable/ adapter is not damaged
3 Check the OTG Cable/adapter connectivity with another device

Note: Always use a genuine Samsung OTG cable/adapter. Samsung accessories are designed for your phone to maximize performance. Using other accessories may invalidate your warranty and cause damage.

4 If it is working on another device, check and clean the charging port of your device.

Note: If connectivity is working in safe mode then issue is with third party application. Kindly uninstall third party applications and check by booting in Normal mode.

5 Always use a genuine Samsung OTG cable/adapter
6 Update the software, If available
7 Check after resetting the device
