How do I restrict access to my Galaxy S4 while using it as a Wi-Fi hotspot?

To restrict connection access to your Galaxy S4's while using it as a Wi-Fi hotspot, you can set a security password and/or an allowed device list.

 

    Follow the steps below to Access Portable Wi-Fi hotspot configuration settings:


    1.     From the Home screen, touch App Icon Apps

    3.     Select the Connections tab, and choose More networks.

    4.     Tap Tethering and Portable Hotspot

    5.     If the slider next to Portable Wi-Fi hotspot is "OFF", slide it to put it in the "ON" position.

    Here's a Quick Guide to set a Wi-Fi Password:

 

    1.     Tap Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot, and touch Configure

     2.     Select WPA PSK or WPA2 PSK in the Security box, and enter your desired password in the Password box.

    3.     Touch Save


    To enable and add on allowed device list, do the following:

 

 

    1.     On theGS4 Settings Icon Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings, select AndroidAP

    2.     Touch the button next to Only allowed devices

    3.     Touch Allowed devices

    4.     Touch the + icon to add a device that you will allow to connect to your Galaxy S4's mobile data connection.

    5.     Enter a name in the Device name box for the allowed device.

    6.     Enter the MAC address of the allowed device in the MAC address boxes, and tap OK.
