Jessica Rosenworcel

Commissioner

Jessica Rosenworcel returned as a Commissioner to the Federal Communications Commission on August 11, 2017 after being nominated by the President and unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate.

Previously, Commissioner Rosenworcel served as an FCC Commissioner from May 11, 2012 to January 3, 2017 following her nomination by President Obama and unanimous Senate confirmation.

Commissioner Rosenworcel brings a decade and a half of public sector and private sector communications law experience to her position at the FCC. This experience has shaped her belief that in the 21st century strong communications markets can foster economic growth and security, enhance digital age opportunity, and enrich our civic life.

Prior to joining the agency, Commissioner Rosenworcel served as Senior Communications Counsel for the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, under the leadership of Senator John D. Rockefeller IV. She previously served in the same role on the Committee under the leadership of Senator Daniel K. Inouye. In this position, she was responsible for legislation, hearings, and policy development involving a wide range of communications issues, including spectrum auctions, public safety, broadband deployment and adoption, universal service, video programming, satellite television, local radio, and digital television transition.

Before joining the staff of the Committee, she served as Legal Advisor to former FCC Commissioner Michael J. Copps. She also served at the agency as Legal Counsel to the Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau and as an Attorney-Advisor in the Wireline Competition Bureau.

Prior to entering public service, Commissioner Rosenworcel practiced communications law at Drinker Biddle and Reath.

Commissioner Rosenworcel is a native of Hartford, Connecticut. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University and New York University School of Law. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband Mark, and children Caroline and Emmett.

Philip Marnick

Group Director, Spectrum

Philip is Group Director, Spectrum at Ofcom, where he is responsible for setting and implementing the strategy for managing spectrum including clearing, awarding, licensing, monitoring and enforcement.

Philip is also Chairman of the EU's Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG) bringing together all the EU's national spectrum authorities and the Commission.

Philip has over 30 years' experience within the wireless communications industry. He has held senior executive positions covering technology, operations and strategy. Philip has worked in both start-ups (from initial concept to sale) and large corporates in companies ranging from UK Broadband, O2, Orange, BT, J-Phone in Japan (now Softbank Mobile), Extreme Mobile and SpinVox (now Nuance).

Balázs Bertényi

Chairman of 3GPP RAN @ Nokia

Mr Balazs Bertenyi received an M.Sc. Degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications in 1998 at the Technical University of Budapest.

Balazs joined Nokia in 1998 and started to work on circuit switched mobile switching. In 1999 he joined the research group on IP Multimedia and has led various strategic projects for Nokia and then for Nokia Siemens Networks on Core Network architecture and standards.

He started working in 3GPP standardization in 2001, leading the Nokia and later the Nokia Siemens Networks delegation in the architecture group (SA2) of 3GPP. In 2007 he was elected as Chairman of the Architecture Working Group (SA2) in 3GPP, and served 2 consecutive terms until 2011.

In 2011 he was elected as Chairman of 3GPP Technical Specification Group Services and System Aspects (TSG-SA), has been re-elected in 2013, and has been serving as Chairman of this key standards group until March/2015.

With the start of 5G studies Balazs has moved to radio standardization, and has been a delegate in 3GPP RAN covering 5G topics for Nokia.

In March/2017 Balazs was elected as Chairman of 3GPP RAN thereby taking a key role in shaping 5G standards.

Sungho Jo

Senior Director, Head of Access Network Lab

Mr. Sungho Jo as the Senior Director, The Head of Access Network. Lab is currently responsible for developing 5G, 4G, IoT Access Networks at SK Telecom R&D. He joined SK Telecom in 1997, and worked for the network operation division. From 2001, he has not only contributed commercialization of CDMA1X and EVDO but also took a responsibility for WCDMA development of SK Telecom. Since 2011, he has successfully led the Korea-first LTE launch, the world-first multi-carrier deployment, the world-first nation-wide HD Voice (VoLTE) commercialization, the world-first LTE-A (Carrier Aggregation) commercialization, and directing LTE evolution and beyond LTE-A of SK Telecom as the head of Commercialization part at Access Network Lab. He also led a successful LoRa IoT Network Commercialization in 2016.He led 5G Tech Lab and has been the head of Access Network. Lab since 2017.

His current interest mainly focuses on next generation communication system like 5G, SDN/NFV and LTE-A Evolution, LPWA, IoT. He received a Bachelor degree in the department of Electronic Engineering at Kyungpook National University (KNU) and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Korea University.

Jongsik Lee

VP, Infra Laboratory

Jongsik Lee is currently the head of 5G TF in Infra Lab. of Institute of Convergence Technology. He joined KT in 1998 and has worked on various wireless areas including 3G, Mobile WiMAX, and LTE-related R&D project. Since 2014, he has been leading LTE Evolution and 5G-related R&D projects.

He received the B.S. & M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Seoul National University in 1996 and in 1998, respectively. His main research areas were RF and microwave engineering.

Vishnu Sundaram

Vice President – Telematics BU

Vishnu Sundaram is the Global Leader for Telematics, reporting to the President of Division. In this multi-faced role, Vishnu drives general management functions covering all aspects from creation of cutting edge Telematics solutions to profitable execution of projects for Harman. In addition, Vishnu is also the board member of 5G Automotive Alliance, an organization focused on driving development, testing and promotion of 5G communication technology for autonomous driving, ubiquitous access to services and integration into smart city and intelligent transportation.

Vishnu started his career with a short stint in the silicon industry at Intel, and later moved to Austin based technology company - Trilogy, where he played the role of Technical Fellow in Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning projects. He was a product of the Trilogy University Program, the Harvard Business Review renowned boot camp to create a cult of individuals with extreme creativity, innovation and strategic thinking.

After building successful high technology products within Trilogy, he left Trilogy to start the entrepreneurship journey. Vishnu co-founded Lifeblob, a content aggregation platform, which was acquired by Printo. Later, founded Interchain, a Telematics product company then had 70% market share in first responder Telematics solutions in India. Harman acquired Interchain in 2012 to enable expansion of product portfolio and market reach.

The entrepreneurship journey of a decade in the “Internet of Things” space helped in building strong business acumen in creating and realizing vision to build products for tomorrow. Vishnu has a unique blend of entrepreneurship and startup background combined with deep-rooted technical experience.

Inside Harman, started with General Management of Telematics Business Unit function including P&L management and later moved on to roles including the Product Management of Infotainment Services that includes automotive cloud applications, before moving on to the current program execution role.

Vishnu did Executive General Management with Wharton University, in addition to the Masters degree in Science degree with a specialization in Software Engineering. Vishnu has published several patents and publications in the IOT domain.

Yael Maguire

VP, Connectivity

Yael Maguire is a VP of Facebook's Connectivity Programs, overseeing the development of long-term technology solutions designed to accelerate the expansion and improvement of telecom infrastructure around the world. With diverse programs ranging from Aquila—Facebook's solar-powered unmanned aerial vehicle—to terrestrial connectivity systems such as Terragraph, these solutions are focused on helping bring the world closer together by reaching the unconnected and increasing capacity and performance for everyone else. He is co-founder of Plum Labs, an early stage mobile innovation lab and co-founder and former CTO of ThingMagic, Inc., a market leader in bringing long-range RFID readers to the global market. In his work at ThingMagic, acquired by Trimble Navigation, he co-developed this new technology to let computers and machines "see" the world in a completely new way, and which now find uses in Ford Trucks and Lexmark printers. Maguire completed his PhD at the MIT Media Laboratory in the area of near-field electromagnetic measurement through his invention of a new type of NMR geometry for molecular detection using NMR. Maguire also holds a master's in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT for his work towards scaling NMR quantum computing to table-top systems, and an undergraduate degree from Queen's University, Canada in Engineering Physics. While still a graduate student, he co-founded Design that Matters (DtM), a course at MIT that was designed to bring together engineering students to work on technical challenges posed by NGOs and governments in order to improve the quality of life for people in underserved communities around the world. The DtM course has been adopted by other educational institutions around the world, and its spirit flourishes in a NPO of the same name. Maguire's contributions have been featured in numerous press including the New York Times, Wired, Science and Nature Magazine. He has won numerous awards, recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum 2009-2013, a MassHighTech All-Star in 2007, and one of Technology Review's "Top 35 innovators in the world under 35" in 2005. He is the author of more than 50 patents and patent applications.

Nicolas Ott

Managing Director Telecoms & M2M

Nicolas is Managing Director of our Telecoms & M2M business unit which is the leading independent provider of towers, outdoor small cells infrastructure and indoor distributed antennae systems to the UK mobile industry, and a leading provider of smart meters and internet of things networks in the UK.

Nicolas joined Arqiva in January 2012 from EE, the UK's largest mobile operator where he was the Vice-President for Strategy, Regulation and Planning. Prior to that, Nicolas held various positions in Orange UK and in Orange / France Telecom Group. He has also spent a number of years in financial audit.

Nicolas is a graduate of the European Business School and is a qualified accountant (Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures Comptables & Financières).

He is married and lives in London.

Dr. Adnan Raja

Principal RAN Architect

Adnan Raja obtained his M.S and Ph.D. from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in ECE in 2008 and 2012 respectively. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Stanford University in 2012 building large-scale IoT networks, and subsequently at Fastback Networks building Gigabit wireless backhaul radios in Sub-6GHz and mm-wave. Since 2016, he has been working as the Principal RAN Architect at xRAN.org, designing next generation RAN architecture along SDN/NFV principles.

Harpinder Matharu

Director, Communications Strategic & Technical Marketing

Harpinder Matharu is the Director of the Communications Business at Xilinx. He manages strategic and technical marketing team. He has more than 25 years' experience working in different capacities in the industry. At Xilinx, he has managed connectivity, radio, switching and packet processing products for the wireless infrastructure and backhaul. His current focus area is Cloud RAN, 5G, and SDN/NFV applications in the mobile networks. He has published many papers, spoken at industry events, and chaired standards technical/marketing bodies in the past.

Alex Reznik

Enterprise Architect, HPE and Chair, ETSI ISG MEC

ALEX REZNIK is currently an Enterprise Account Architect on Hewlett Packard Enterprise's telco strategic account team. In this role he is involved in various aspects of helping a Tier 1 telco evolve towards a flexible infrastructure capable of delivering on the full promises of 5G. Since March 2017, Alex also serves as Chair of ETSI's Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) ISG – the leading international standards group focused on enabling edge computing in access networks.

Prior to May 2016 Alex was a Senior Principal Engineer at InterDigital, leading the company's research and development activities in the area of wireless internet evolution. Since joining InterDigital in 1999, he has been involved in a wide range of projects, including leadership of 3G modem ASIC architecture, design of advanced wireless security systems, coordination of standards strategy in the cognitive networks space, development of advanced IP mobility and heterogeneous access technologies and development of new content management techniques for the mobile edge.

Alex earned his B.S.E.E. Summa Cum Laude from The Cooper Union, S.M. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. He held a visiting faculty appointment at WINLAB, Rutgers University, where he collaborated on research in cognitive radio, wireless security, and future mobile Internet. He served as the Vice-Chair of the Services Working Group at the Small Cells Forum. Alex is a Senior Member of IEEE. Alex is an inventor of over 140 granted U.S. patents, and has been awarded numerous awards for Innovation at InterDigital.

John Kilpatrick

Systems Architect, Microwave Communications Group

Mr. John Kilpatrick has over 30 years of experience in a variety areas of wireless communication systems including cellular, satellite, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint. Mr. Kilpatrick joined Analog Devices in 2010 (as part of Hittite Microwave) and is leading the systems engineering efforts for various integrated microwave products including chipsets for mmW 5G, up- and down-converters for traditional high performance backhaul, 60 GHz transmitter and receiver chipset design for small cell backhaul, and frequency converters for both VSAT and LEO satellite systems. Before joining ADI, he help architect and develop one of the first multimode, multiband transceivers for cellular handsets.

He received his BA in Applied Mathematics from Gordon College and MS in Systems Engineering from UMass Lowell.

Dr. Arda Aksu

Associate Fellow, 5G Strategy and Planning

Arda is an accomplished telecom veteran with over 20 years of experience in the wireless telecommunications industry. His distinguished career has spanned start-up phases to mature wireless service providers.

Currently he is a Verizon Fellow, and key technical lead overseeing many aspects of 5G network and technology initiatives in Verizon: develop 5G spectrum strategy, lead the specifications and test plan development work within Verizon's 5G technology forum (5GTF, www.5gtf.org), lead development of various 5G technology components (ie. mmWave propagation, channel models, wireless backhaul, multiuser MIMO, fixed wireless, 5G RAN architecture). He researches and evaluates new technologies, and translate business objectives and strategies into viable plans. He provides technical leadership and direction to vendors and internal organizations, works with cross-functional teams on network initiatives and development projects. In the past he had the opportunity to spearhead new technologies introductions, such as femtocells, LTE, VoLTE. He worked on the evolution effort of Verizon Wireless network toward LTE/IMS, various interworking, interoperability and roaming initiatives.

Arda came from Newfield Wireless (a Netscout company) where he was the Director of Advanced Technology. In this role, he was responsible for network planning, modeling, and CDMA system optimization activities within the organization. Previously he was a Senior Technologist with the office of the CTO in Comverse working on the conceptualization and development of new and enhanced wireless services. Prior to Comverse, he was also with Verizon Technology Organization (formerly known as GTE Laboratories Inc.) in Waltham, MA. His responsibilities mainly included design, analysis, and testing of cellular and fixed-access wireless communications systems.

Arda holds a MSc. and Ph.D. in telecommunications from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He is the author of over 30 scientific and technical publications, an invited author for Wiley Encyclopedia of Telecommunications, panel/session chair, and invited speaker for various industry forums. He is the recipient of 42 US and international patents with 34 additional pending US patent applications.

Egil Grönstad

Director Radio Technology Development and Strategy

As Director of Technology Development and Strategy, Egil is leading all Advanced Radio Technology Planning and Development activities of the 3rd largest Mobile Network Operator in the US. He also leads Spectrum evaluations and strategies as well as radio related standards activities to secure long term alignment between business objectives and spectrum/technology availability and ecosystem.

Prior to joining T-Mobile in 2015, Egil was the Vice President of Technology Planning and Engineering for Cricket Communications, where he led the corporate engineering team with core competencies in customer experience, value-rich product development and low cost network operations. Egil drove the Technology Strategy, Network Planning, Architecture and Implementation of new network capabilities and was also responsible for optimum utilization of capital, assets and partnership opportunities.

In addition to his wireless network operator experience at T-Mobile and Cricket, Egil was previously Vice President of Strategic Development for Clearwire where he led a number of strategic technology, business and partner initiatives for the company.

Earlier in his carrier, Egil worked several years for Ericsson, amongst others as Vice President of Product Line Management for the CDMA Business Unit. In this capacity, he was responsible for end to end planning and life cycle management of Ericsson’s global CDMA2000 infrastructure solutions offering. Prior to this, Egil held various leadership positions in Product Marketing, Product Management and Technical Sales of TDMA network infrastructure solutions for Ericsson Inc. in Richardson, TX. He has more than twenty years of experience in the wireless telecommunications industry.

Egil is a graduate of University of California, Santa Barbara, where he received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Dr. Ron Marquardt

Vice President of Technology

As Vice President of Technology for Sprint, Dr. Marquardt is responsible for Sprint's long-term technology strategy and architecture, the industry relationships and investments enabling Sprint's innovation and ecosystem development goals, as well as the company's advocacy in US and global industry forums and standards bodies. He also represents Sprint at speaking engagements, in press and analyst interviews, and as needed with regulatory bodies and other industry stakeholders.

Prior to Sprint, Dr. Marquardt was VP of Technology Development at Clearwire Corporation, responsible for that company's technology strategy as well as the architecture, design, testing, and implementation of its mobile broadband 4G network, devices, and services. He also was CTO at Covad Communications where he led teams responsible for the engineering and network planning of VoIP, wireless, and broadband services across the United States. Prior to that role, he was in various positions at network equipment manufacturers.

Dr. Marquardt has an S.B. in Physics from MIT, an M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Caltech, and is an alumnus of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Alexander Pabst

VP, Systems and Projects

Alexander Pabst is Vice President Systems and Projects within the Test & Measurement Division of Rohde Schwarz.

He joined Rohde & Schwarz in 1997 having studied Physics at the University of Bonn. After several years in Product Management and Business Development he took over his current position in July 2014. His group provides test solutions for conformance testing, EMC and antenna test. Especially the field of antenna test is one of the cornerstones of the subdivisions growth strategy and enabler for the realization of the 5G vision.

James Kimery

Director of Marketing for Wireless Research and SDR

James Kimery is a Director of Marketing for National Instruments SDR and Wireless Research initiatives. In this role, James is responsible for company's 5G strategy encompassing both research and business initiatives. James also leads NI's RF and Communications Lead User program which works with leading researchers across the world to accelerate the transition from theory to prototype and deployment. James also manages the company's software defined radio business including the Ettus Research subsidiary acquired by NI in 2010. In 2014, James chaired the IEEE Globecom industry committee which was held in Austin, Texas. Prior to joining NI, James was the Director of Marketing for Silicon Laboratories' wireless division. As Director, the wireless division grew revenues exceeding $250M (from $5M) and produced several industry innovations including the first integrated CMOS RF synthesizer and transceiver for cellular communications, the first digitally controlled crystal oscillator, and the first integrated single chip phone (AeroFONE). AeroFONE was voted by the IEEE as one of the top 40 innovative ICs ever developed. James also worked at National Instruments before transitioning to Silicon Labs and led many successful programs including the concept and launch of the PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation (PXI) platform. James was a founding member of the VXIplug&play Systems Alliance, VISA working group, and PXI System Alliance. He has authored over 60 technical papers and articles covering a variety of wireless and test and measurement related topics. James holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin (MBA) and Texas A&M University (BSEE).

Kailash Narayanan

Vice President and General Manager Wireless Test Business

Kailash Narayanan is Vice President and General Manager at Keysight Technologies. He leads the Wireless Industry Solutions business segment and is responsible for R&D, product and solution development, marketing and sales, and delivery to the wireless ecosystem that includes chipset makers, device industry, contract manufacturers, ODMs and service providers. He seeks to grow the business by taking a holistic view of the industry including software content, complete solutions and driving innovation at the pace of the wireless industry to enable next generation communication systems and applications.

He started his career as a software engineer in 1996 in a start-up company in the San Francisco Bay Area developing sales force automation solutions. He then joined Hewlett-Packard in late 1996, moving into the electronic test and measurement industry. He has held management positions in R&D, Manufacturing and in a wide range of businesses and technologies spanning wireline backhaul, base stations, electronic components, wireless handsets and fiber optics.

Kailash has a BS degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Chicago and an MBA from Walden University.

Stephen Hire

Vice President - Asia Pacific

Stephen Hire is Vice President at Cobham Wireless with responsibility for the Company's sales, marketing, support and strategy for Asia Pacific markets. He has more than 25 years' experience in the industry and has lived and worked in India, Hong Kong, Singapore and UK.

Cobham Wireless was formed in 2015 bringing from the former Aeroflex Wireless test and measurement and Axell Wireless distributed antenna system businesses. Aeroflex is the world leader for 3G/LTE/5G test mobiles which are used as a critical development tool by every major cellular base station manufacturer and many network operators. Axell's repeaters and distributed antenna systems are deployed globally for both public safety and cellular applications. Cobham Wireless is a founding member of the 5GIC (5G Innovation Centre) technology research program led by the University of Surrey in the UK and works closely with Samsung on both 4G and 5G base station development.

Stephen is also a Vice President of the Global mobile Suppliers Association (www.gsacom.com) that represents vendors from across the worldwide mobile ecosystem. GSA actively promotes the 3GPP technology road-map – 3G; 4G; 5G – and is a single source of information resource for industry reports and market intelligence.

Dr. Thomas Byunghak Cho

SVP, Leader of RF development Team of System LSI

Thomas Byunghak Cho received the B.S. degree from the UCLA, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the UC, Berkeley, all in electrical engineering. For the past 20+ years, he's been working on many CMOS RFIC products for various wireless applications, such as cordless phone, WLAN, BT, Cellular, GNSS, etc. Since 2012, he's been with Samsung Electronics in Korea, and he is currently Senior VP of RF Development Team, focusing on the development of CMOS RF/Analog ICs and data converter IPs for cellular/connectivity/IoT/5G modem applications.

Dr. Tingfang-Ji

Sr. Director of Engineering, Systems Lead on 5G Sub 6 GHz

Tingfang Ji joined Qualcomm Research in 2003 where he is currently a senior director of engineering. He has been involved in system designs of multiple advanced wireless systems including IEEE 802.20, 4G UMB, 4G LTE and 5G NR. From 2008-2014, he took a leading role in standardizing LTE-Advanced in 3GPP and served as a vice chairman of the radio working group (RAN4). Since 2014, he has been leading the system design of 5G NR sub-6 GHz radio access technology, with a focus on key NR concepts such as low latency frame structure, scalable numerology, UL based mobility, and wide-area wide-band TDD massive MIMO. His team also made instrumental contribution to an industry-first sub6GHz 5G NR compliant live demo in MWC 2017.

Before joining Qualcomm, Tingfang was a member of the technical staff at Bell Labs. He received his Ph.D. degree in E.E. from the University of Michigan, Ann arbor in 2001, and also holds a B.Sc. from Tsinghua University, Beijing and an M.S. from the University of Toledo, Ohio. He holds more than 200 granted US patents.

Dr. Volker Ziegler

Head of 5G Leadership and Chief Architect

Volker Ziegler serves as Head of 5G Leadership and Chief Architect of Nokia Mobile Networks.

He leads and orchestrates the 5G era Nokia Mobile Networks technology, innovation and architecture; drives roadmap alignment for 5G differentiation and growth across Nokia Mobile Networks and other business groups in close cooperation with e2e Mobile Networks sales; he assures landing zone for Bell Labs innovation and; maximizes 5G impact with customers, partners and SDOs.

He has previously led Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) strategy and business portfolio and, the global business development, sales and operations strategy and transformation of NSN. Prior to that, Volker has successfully served as the Head of the North East Region of NSN. This role has included the profit and loss responsibility as well as full accountability for operational sales and services for one of the seven world regions of NSN including Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and Turkey.

Previously, he has served as President of the Charging and Care business unit of Siemens Networks with full P&L accountability and along the value chain and, prior to that, as President of the Applications and Solutions unit of Siemens Mobile Networks. Volker was one of the founding members of the Siemens Mobile Solutions leadership team in the year 2000 where he acted as President and previously as Vice President and CFO.

He served as Director of Business Administration, Controlling and Finance for the Americas with the Siemens Wireline Networks Division. His earlier experience includes a two year assignment as Information Technology Specialist with the World Bank / IFC in conjunction with loan and equity investment decisions in the telecommunications' sector. He had various management positions in R&D, Sales and Services with the Siemens Mobile Networks Division, as well as technical project responsibility with the German Aerospace Research Establishment / AEG Telefunken.

Volker Ziegler is a graduate of the Harvard Executive Development Program and holds a PhD and a Masters' Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Universität (TH) Karlsruhe, Germany.

Jonathan Wood

Next Generation and Standards, Senior Director Business Development

Jonathan Wood is Senior Director within Intel's Client, Internet of Things and Systems Architecture Group (CISA) and GM for Business Development with the Next Generation and Standards group, responsible for strategic programs and partners for advanced technology, like 5G.

Jonathan joined Intel in 2013 via an acquisition by Intel's Software and Services Group of a leading software company focused on API management.

Before assuming his current role at Intel in 2016, Jonathan served as a Senior Director responsible for Business Development and Partnerships for Intel's LTE Modem and Connectivity Solutions business, working to bring several new iconic designs to market with leading manufacturers from within consumer electronics, IOT and automotive industries.

Earlier in his career, Jonathan has spent more than two decades in various senior management positions at Lucent Technologies, AT&T Network Systems, Philips Communications, GEC Siemens and Palmsource where his responsibilities spanned a range of business development, product sales and technical marketing for wireless, telecommunications, internet, mobile software and semiconductors.

Glenn Laxdal

Head of Network Products Ericsson North America

Glenn Laxdal is currently Head of Network Products for Ericsson North America and previously was the CTO and Head of Strategy also for Ericsson North America. Laxdal joined Ericsson in 2012 as Head of Advanced Technology.

Before joining Ericsson, Laxdal held leadership positions at RIM, where he was Vice President of Global Product Management for smartphones and tablets. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Nortel in a variety of executive roles in both carrier and enterprise networks.

Laxdal holds two Bachelor's degrees from the University of Saskatchewan and an MBA from the University of Toronto – Rotman School of Management.

Bob Everson

Global Director, Mobility and 5G

Mr. Everson is Global Director of Mobility and 5G for Cisco's Service Provider organization; leading strategy, business development, and go-to-market. In this role he also drives mobility strategy and roadmap alignment with the R&D organization to meet the needs of customers and the overall market. Throughout his 25+ year career in technology, he has remained keenly focused on finding the intersection between innovative technologies and business drivers.

Prior to this role, he served in numerous senior leadership and technology positions leading systems engineering, business strategy, as well as Chief Architect for Mobility and Web Providers.
