Stay cool without feeling cold using WindFree™¹ Cooling. Its advanced air flow structure gently and evenly disperses air through 23,000 micro air holes. It creates a “Still Air” environment with a very low air speed, so it cools a room without the unpleasant feeling of cold wind on your skin.

Cools 43% faster² from corner to corner

Cool rooms rapidly. The twin compressor works stably at any speed, as its two cylinders rotate alternately. The BLDC motor’s Neodymium magnets are 3x stronger than normal, so it generates powerful and faster rotation. So it cools the air 43% faster² and disperses cool air farther and wider³.

Save energy and you can stay comfortably cool. WindFree™ mode reduces unnecessary energy consumption, as it doesn’t have to keep blowing powerful blasts of cold air like a normal cooling operation. So, it consumes 77% less energy than Fast Cooling mode⁴.

Less detectable noise

Feel comfortably cool without disturbing your daily life. WindFree™ air conditioners gently and uniformly disperse air through thousands of micro air holes covering the entire front panel. The resulting very low air speed generates less air friction and noise⁵ compared to normal cooling.

WindFree™ Air Purification

Quickly captures even ultrafine dust

Protect yourself from tiny particles. A PM1.0 Filter traps ultrafine particles using an electrostatic precipitator. Colored lights show the current air quality and a sensor detects when the air is dirty, so it can be automatically cleaned⁶. And the washable filter is cost-effective to maintain.

Remove fine dust, viruses, bacteria and allergens. A 4-in-1 Care Filter incorporates a fabric that collects dust, including particles as small as PM2.5, as well as fibers and hair. It also has a filter with a copper coating that removes up to 99% of viruses, bacteria, allergens and PM2.5 dust.⁷

Feel comfortably cool as soon as you get home. Welcome Cooling, part of the SmartThings App⁸, detects your location by tracking your smartphone’s GPS⁹. If you come within a preset distance, it automatically sets the room temperature at the desired level, using your preferred mode and settings.

Remotely control it
anytime, anywhere

Control the temperature effortlessly. Using the SmartThings App⁸ you can remotely control and monitor it with just a touch. You can also control it with your voice using a voice assistant¹⁰, such as Samsung Bixby¹¹, Amazon Alexa¹² or Google Assistant¹³. It even suggests the best settings.

Smart energy optimization and savings

Control energy usage to reduce your bills. SmartThings Energy¹⁴ lets you easily check your power consumption¹⁵. If the estimated amount¹⁶ exceeds your target, it adjusts the energy usage of all smart appliances. When the air conditioner is on it draws the blinds and alerts you if you go out.¹⁷

  2. Based on internal testing. Tested on the AR12TXCAAWKEU model compared with the Samsung conventional AQ12EASER model, measuring the time taken to reduce the room temperature from 33°C to 25°C.
