Galaxy Note10 - Use profile sharing (SM-N970W, SM-N975W & SM-N976W)

Profile sharing lets you share your phone’s profile picture, status message, and other information with your friends and family. And if you’re worried about your privacy, don’t be. You have complete control over who sees what: your photo and tagline can only be shared with people who already have your phone number.

Information provided applies to devices sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary for smartphones sold in other countries.

If you just uploaded a new profile picture, you can share it with other Samsung users through the profile sharing feature. First, make sure you are signed into a Samsung account. Navigate to and open Contacts, and tap the Menu icon on the left. Tap the Settings icon (in the top right corner) and then tap the switch next to Profile sharing.

Activate profile sharing

Tap the checkbox next to “I agree to all of the above” to accept the Samsung Social terms, and then tap Next. If needed, tap Verify to validate your phone number. Finally, tap Upload to send your information to Samsung Social. This is required, so your phone can find other Samsung Social users you know.

The profile sharing feature is only available for contacts who have activated the profile sharing feature on their device. It also requires a SIM card.

You can choose to share your work information, birthday, and email address too, or keep all of that information private. Navigate to and open Contacts, and tap the Menu icon on the left. Tap the Settings icon (in the top right corner), and then tap Profile sharing. Next, tap Select what’s shared.

Control the information shared

Select a category, such as Birthday or Work, and then choose your desired sharing option: Share with everyone, Share with contacts or Don't Share. When you're happy with the changes, tap Apply to save them.

It’s normal for things, like your email address, to change every once in a while, so your phone gives you the ability to edit your profile whenever you want. Navigate to and open Contacts, and then tap your account’s profile picture at the top of the screen to open your profile. You will see all of your information listed, such your phone number, email, your Emergency contacts, and more. To edit the information on your profile, tap Edit at the bottom of the page. Edit and adjust your desired information, and then tap Save in the bottom right-hand corner.

Edit your profile

If you activated profile sharing, you don’t even need to tell your friends and family about it - the information will be updated on their devices automatically.

The profile sharing feature is only available for contacts who have activated the profile sharing feature on their device.
