Connect a Bluetooth device to your Samsung TV

Last Update date : Sep 19. 2023
A Samsung TV is next to a Samsung soundbar in a living room

Some Samsung TVs come with Bluetooth capabilities, which means they can wirelessly connect to speakers, headphones, hearing aids, and other devices. Connect a Bluetooth soundbar to your TV to get the most out of your favorite movie, or connect headphones so you can have a private screening. You can even pair a Bluetooth keyboard or gamepad to make searching for movies and shows easier than ever.

Note: The information provided applies to televisions sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary for televisions sold in other countries.

If your TV came with a Smart Remote, it supports Bluetooth - that is how the Smart Remote pairs to the TV.

However, if your TV came with another type of remote, you can still check if it is Bluetooth compatible. From your TV's Settings, select Sound, and then select Sound Output. If the option “Bluetooth Speaker List” appears, then your TV supports Bluetooth.

Note: If this does not match with your TV and you still are not sure, you can always consult your user manual.

Your TV is your center for entertainment, but you can make it even better by connecting Bluetooth devices. On some QLED, UHD, and SUHD TV models, you can connect the following devices:

 • Bluetooth headphones and hearing aids
 • Bluetooth soundbars
 • Bluetooth speakers
 • Bluetooth gamepads or controllers
 • Bluetooth keyboards and mice

Note: Depending on your Samsung TV model, the steps to pair your Bluetooth device to your TV will be different. It can be found under General for newer TVs, but under System for older models. As a consequence, we recommend consulting your user manual for more information.

If your TV does not support Bluetooth but you still want to connect a Bluetooth speaker or headphones, you can get a Bluetooth adapter. These can be connected to a 3.5mm audio port or a standard left/right AUX audio port (using red and white cables).

If you want to connect a game controller or keyboard, you will not be able to use Bluetooth, but there are plenty of wireless keyboard options available.
