How do I use Dual SIM or USIM Cards on Galaxy devices?

If you insert two SIM or USIM cards, you can have two phone numbers or service providers for a single device. 

 

Should you desire support in the installation of SIM cards, you can follow the steps in SIM card installation FAQs, e.g. Galaxy S7 SIM or USIM cards installation FAQ,  before you activate the cards by following the guideline provided in this FAQ.

 


Activate SIM cards

 

On the Apps screen,

1. Tap “Settings

2. Tap “Connections

3. Tap "SIM card manager"

4. Tap any SIM Card under General Settings

5. Turn on the "On" option

 ※Note:  If both cards are activated, you can receive calls and messages on each card. 
However, if you are on a call using one card, the other card cannot be used to receive new calls.

 

 

 

Change Display Name and Icon of SIM Cards

 

On the Apps screen,

1. Tap “Settings

2. Tap “Connections

3. Tap "SIM card manager"

4. Tap any SIM Card under General Settings

5. Tap on either "Icon" or "Name"

6. Select an icon or Change the name and tap "OK"

Switch between Cards

 

When two SIM or USIM cards are activated, card selection icons appear on the dashboard of the notifications panel. 


Open the notifications panel (Drag from the top of the screen downwards with one finger) and then select the card to be used.
